1. Rob Dibble
2. Joe Buck
3. Buck Martinez
4. Tim McCarver

Joe Buck has my vote as worst sports announcer, but he can't touch Dibble when it comes to baseball.

I agree with this. It sometimes seems like he's trying to start a argument, maybe it's the way he talks I don't know. Sometimes just listening to him makes me want to randomly get up and grab a bag of popcorn.

I hear all three of them quite a bit. And, it's not even close in my mind. Remy and Orsillo are just homers. Morgan's problem (aside from always trying to manage every pitch/play of the game from the booth) is that he's just annoying.

color guy - McCarver and it isnt even close

Play-by-play...the Angels team is terrible. It is like listening to C-span until Gubicza starts talking about how awesome he was with the Royals. However Charlie Steiner is pretty bad too, but especially so since he follows Scully.

1. McCarver

2. Little Joe Morgan

3. Chris Berman - we only hear from him at HR derby but his suckitude at that is so bad he makes the list

4. Our own Jim Hunter - I don't watch enough Nats games to vote Dibble and when I do see him he's playing straight man to Amusing Anecdotes with Jim Palmer. Hunter, is so bad, the Mythbusters put to the test that you can actually polish a turd and succeeded. Jim's response was " I could have told them that with several years of experience in that area.". Fleet Admiral of the Goodship Lollipop makes my list.

Listen to the Yanks Radio show sometime. Sterling is awful.

Besides Singleton and Leiter, the MFY have incredibly bad announcers and broadcasters. I don't think it gets much worse than Suzyn Waldman. I never understood how such a revered team could have such an awful crew.

As for THE worst? It's a tie between Joe Morgan and Tim McCarver.

McCarver doesn't bother me a whole lot, though I can see why people don't like him.

I'm not sure who to pick before Dibble or Morgan. I might have to go with Dibble, actually...no other announcer has made me shout "SHUT THE ---- UP!" at a TV until Dibble. Morgan is really close, though.

Hunter makes my list...I hate getting home from work, turning on the game and looking forward to hearing Thorne and Palmer and then find out the appropriately named Fleet Admiral is on the mic.

Thankfully Berman doesn't do enough baseball, because he's horrible. I want to like the guy, and I do believe he's got actual knowledge of sports, but it doesn't come through. He's a hype man, and I can't stand that.

McCarver is inexcusably horrible.

My votes goes to the voices you hear when the TV is changed to SAP. Talking a mile a minute to say a guy grounded out to second.

I'm kidding...I personally cannot stand Michael Kay's obvious bias when announcing ballgames. He does know more than most about the Orioles, but his bias disgusts me.

He's a walking pop culture reference page. He's horrible. He literally thinks it's supposed to be about him putting on a show instead of calling the game (or derby). I liked him when I was like 11. Now I think he's a major ass clown.

Harrelson is beyond terrible. He's the homer to beat all homers. He actually calls all of the White Sox players by their first names. He calls the White Sox "us" and "we". And he openly roots for the team, calling the other team "the enemy".

I would agree except I can't forgive him for calling the Oriole first baseman Johnny Powell throughout the 1966 World Series.

I'm always amazed by the number of people who get upset over Ken Harrelson. If he were on a national broadcast team he'd be offensive, but it's Chicago WhiteSox baseball. I just find his act to be silly and I laugh at it. The "Goodguys 3, Badguys 2" stuff, "YES!!!!" etc.

My favorite was that he used to call Craig Grebeck (http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/g/grebecr01.shtml)"The Little Hurt".

Yea, yea, yea, it went through!!! We beat the Royals 5-4!!!!! We won!! We won!!! Yeaaa!!!! Yeaaaa!!!!" I'd pretty much want him fired yesterday.

What's sad is that McCarver used to be decent. Buck is awful as well. Would love to start a petition to let Vin Scully call one more world series--by himself on Fox.

For TV guys, the play-by-play guy in Tampa is beyond boring. Dibble's pretty bad and Carpenter talks too slowly -- Nats games are hard to watch.

I don't hear them often, but Thom Brennaman and Jeff Brantley might be the worst team.

On radio, the worst is Suzyn Waldman and no one is close.

(ducking) I actually like Hawk and Stone but I realize Hawk is an acquired taste.

I know I'm in the very small minority of non White Sox fans, but I kind of like Hawk. Yeah, it's a schtick, but entertaining every now and then. If I had to listen to it often, I would probably change my tune. Does he still say "He'll grab some bench" after a strikeout?

As much as I want to vote for McCarver, I can't with Joe Morgan around. I liked Morgan as a player, but my goodness, he's annoying to listen to go on and on about something.

I have no idea, but I hate watching White Sox highlights on ESPN and hearing him in the back round. "Mercy" is another one of his calls which i don't mind nearly as much as "Youcin pudidon the BOOOARRRRD, YES!!!". That guy kills me. Gary Thorne is ok, and Jim Palmer broadcasts while reading the back of his baseball cards outloud in front of a mirror while kissing it and combing his hair, which i like better than hearing Hawk Harrelson call a homerun...

Joe Morgan is the worst for me. I've never heard Rob Dibble (does he do Nats games? that would explain why I've never heard him ;) ) so I have no opinion on him.

Hawk Harrelson annoys me, but Steve Stone is great, so I'll put up with Hawk on occasion just to listen to Stone.

Vin Scully is a treat to listen to. It helps that I'm a Dodger fan. There are very few like him left though, unfortunately.

Suzyn Waldman, Joe Morgan, Michael Reghi are among the worst.

I'm in the minority with a few others on this board in that I don't take Hawk Harrelson seriously and don't get bent out of shape by his antics. I've seen a lot of his phrases posted here but haven't seen his "Dadgummit!" yet.

I can appreciate that Hawk is a guy you can tell who really enjoys talking about the game of baseball. Now, you can debate how much the stories get embellished, but I like hearing his old baseball "war stories" from back in the day. He still talks about Alvin Dark, for pete's sake.

I voted for McCarver as the worst, but I must admit that there were many more that I would have included in a vote for "???". Namely:

Reghi, Sterling, Buck, (Fox should be banned from broadcasting any future baseball games) Brenneman & Co. are almost as bad; etc.,

Haven't heard of Waldman, but I guess I will have to listen to a Yankee (radio?) broadcast to check that out.

Harrelson is only tolerable as comic relief. Morgan is sufferable, as is Dibble.
