Sorry, falling behind as I am already two books ahead as to where I am reading now.

One can definitely be fooled by looking at the cover that this is a fairly recent book (as I was) but it was actually first published back in 1955. The book was re-released in 2005.

The book covers the history of baseball in Baltimore going back to pre-Civil War days to the major league Orioles return to Baltimore in 54. It also covers the history of the major league team that would eventually become the Orioles, the St Louis Browns (there is a new foreword section by Bob Broeg on the Brownies). There is also a small collection of photos dating back to the late 1800's.

Overall I thought it was a good read providing some interesting background on the older National and American League Orioles prior to 1902 as well as the International League minor league Orioles.
