Mike Maycock (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Mike-Mayock-Not-a-fan-of-Alex-Barron?urn=nfl-269927) recently broke down the Skins/Girls game play-by-play to show exactly why Alex Barron is not an NFL player. I was surprised at just how strong his football analysis was.

Also in the video/article: 1) Orakpo is a grown-***ed man. Fear him. 2) LaRon Landry is looking a little Meast-y (half-man, half-beast = Sean Taylor). The defense is legit, as always.:2yay-thumb:

Some really good nuggets.

Couldn't watch the video, but good stuff in the article.

The text is a virtual transcript of the Barron parts of the video so not missing much there--although there is a special pleasure in seeing him flail wildly again. The rest of the video shows just how Orakpo affected the game, sometimes by not even being around the ball and blowing up the line. It also shows how versatile our defense can be because we have such an athletic SS in Landry. I haven't always been a big Landry fan, but now he truly looks like he is in a position to dominate. It'd be perfect if only he would stop flexing after every tackle (sometimes after tackling a receiver who just got a 1st down).

Landry is so much more valuable when they let him play SS...and don't try to force him into being a FS where he struggles terribly in coverage. When he's used correctly, he can really be a difference maker.

And Kareem Moore practiced with pads yesterday! (http://espn.go.com/blog/nfceast/post/_/id/18456/skins-kareem-moore-puts-on-the-pads) Doughty is a smart, versatile player, but if he is not playing SS, I don't want him on the field. Kareem has potential to become a Ryan Clark type.

I can't believe Horton hasn't been getting more time, he was amazing as a FS when he was healthy. He had 2 picks and 2 FR in his first 3 games.

He did all of that as a SS. I'm not sure that he can't play FS, but his role that season was to fly to the ball and he thrived doing it. FS needs to play controlled, smart, and engage in pass coverage. I think it is a lot easier to play SS in our system (essentially playing as a 5th LB) than it is to play a FS.
