Let's see if we have enough people to do this. Game time is at 4:15 PM. This should be a good one between our great defense and the Texans seemingly great offense. I think it turns on whether our offense gels today. Gotta be an improvement from last week, right?

Need some offensive production today. Hou doesn't have DAL def though, so I'm hopeful.

Absolutely. And defense typically trumps offense, but it is clearly all about match ups here. Carlos Rogers has to effectively bump Andre Johnson at the line and Reed Doughty has to help over the top. Unfortunately, I don't believe Reed is up to the task. He has looked rough in coverage.
As for Arian Foster, I don't believe our front 7 will get pushed around. He'll come back down to earth.

I think so too, I know Schaub doesn't do well when pressured, so if the line gets some pressure on him it might not matter how our coverage does. It's really up to our front 7 today. This Ravens game is kinda painful to watch so I hope we play better this week.

No doubt! I'm snooooooozing trying to watch this game. I've got Ray Rice as a keeper in my fantasy league, so I try to watch. Killing me...

Based on today's Cowboys game, I'm not sure that's the case.
The offense better step it up today because the Texans are likely to put up some points.

Stalled in the "maroon zone," but at least the FG worked this time...need to go further next drive, though. Seven is still greater than three....
Of course Rodgers needed two chances, but great play nonetheless!
Nice pressure from Landry as well.

Yeah, Carlos Rodgers interception. Then a deep throw to Cooley getting us inside the 10. Followed by 2 weak run attempts to Portis and a poor pass to Portis. Then, Graham Gano kicked the FG.

He has bad hands, but I think your hatred is unjustified otherwise. He's a good cover corner. They are playing a lot more zone now though, so we'll see how that works.

Exactament...if they can step up the run game and convert on third down they will pour it on in the second half. McNabb has a 116.7 rating in the first half to Schaub's still (unfortunately) impressive 100.2. Defense needs to step up more; points count more than yards in the end but there are way too many holes and scary plays for my liking at present.

Awesome to see Anthony Armstrong get involved.
What a drive by McNabb!
His stats were great before that, but that was primarily due to a pass to a wide open Fred Davis and a lot of quick short passes with YAC. But that was some great play by Donavan on that drive.

Eh, either way there will be criticism. If you stop doing what has worked well at the end of the game and you get scored upon, people will wonder why.
This should have been a win in regulation for the Skins. Missed opportunities on offense and the blocked FG killed us.
Now Houston has the ball first and is more likely to win with the stupid OT system.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I was just thinking you know they aren't running the ball, anything short of 10 yards means game over, he's got over 400 yards passing, I'm playing dime coverage with Hall on Johnson and help over the top.

I wan to start this post by saying one very important thing...
Thank you Philly!
I know the Skins lost, and yes it sucks. But how much fun was that game? The Skins looks like a real, honest to gosh NFL team on offense. McNabb spread the ball around. He hit at least 4 WRs, 2 TEs, and 2 RBs. They used te short passing game, crossing routes, and set up the deep ball. McNabb took advantage of everything they gave him, he knew where to go with the ball, and he was decisive. He did things that JC was just incapable of doing. And, while he was doing it, JC was being benched in Oakland for...well...for being JC. I know the offense won't always be that good. But, imagine how good they could be if they were that good with no RBs or WRs...
The defense lost that game, but the defense isn't that bad. The CBs were awful, but we already knew they needed a legit #1 CB. The safeties seem to get lost and confused with coverages, but we knew the safeties were weak there. However, there were some positives on defense...Landry continues to be a monster. They get pressure on the QB finally. Orapko continues to disrupt everything. They just need secondary upgrades.
So, I don't want to overreact to one loss. The moves they made in the off season seemed to work . McNabb has been good. The OL upgrades have been very good (Trent Williams has been awesome...fingers crossed with his injury). The DL upgrades have beengood (Carriker has been very, very impressive). The stop-gap WR group is looking serviceable. The new schemes on both side of the ball look better than anything we've seen here in years. And they are fun to watch!
(And...sorry Baltimore...but Zorn seems to be turning Flacco into JC...have fun with him.)

I semi-like our odds. The Colts are HORRIBLE against the zone-blocking scheme, so Portis could have a huge day. Just a matter of how our D does containing Peyton.

I see it more like their biggest weakness is one that we can't exploit. I don't feel like we match up well against them. Peyton is going to have a field day...even for him. Hopefully McNabb is good against the Cover 2. One thing is for sure: If Justin Tryon gets on the field, we should go after him. He's kind of awful.
