Ralph Friedgen started his Maryland coaching tenure with a win at Byrd Stadium against North Carolina. He ended his tenure with a win a few miles away at RFK Stadium against East Carolina.
As they say, when it comes to the "2001-2010", its really what is in that dash that matters.
Thanks Fridge.

I bought season tickets just a couple months after Ralph was hired, which I renewed until moving to Oregon after the 2006 season. He made it fun to be a UM football fan. I wish things had worked out where Fridge could have left on his own terms. I won't get into the "why"....that's a discussion for the other threads. Hat's off to a great coach and an even greater man.

Sorry we didn't support you as much as we should have, and it's sad that you won't be coaching here next season. Thank you for your outstanding work and the passion you did it with. Your legacy will never be forgotten and will always be appreciated.

A home isn't a home without a Fridge.

Ralph Freidgen was a home boy doing what he loved for the school and the players he loved. IMO, the way his job at Maryland ended was an unnecessary travesty. Maybe Ralph wasn't the best football coach in Maryland history, but the man put his heart and soul into the football program and gave it everything he had. Maryland fans will never forget that. And, the big man went out with a bang winning big in the Military Bowl.
I wish Coach Freidgen the best of luck in whatever he now chooses to do.
