For the wrestling fans out there, there have been vignettes playing for a few weeks now on RAW about a mysterious man in a black cape, and then at the end the date 2-21-11 comes on the screen in flames. Pretty cool. Anyway, it has now become obvious after last week that its the Undertaker returning from his most recent hiatus since his buried alive match with Kane. This brings me to the point of the thread. Tonight on Raw, obviously the Undertaker returns, but we are on the road to Mania now. So my question is, who comes out to confront him to begin a feud for a match to beat the streak?

There are many options for Taker to beat, um, I mean face at WrestleMania.

1. Kane. Kane is the one Taker was feuding with heading into the buried alive match, and Kane is the one who beat Taker in that match to bury him and send him away again. So, Kane is an obvious choice, yet would be very boring as Kane and Taker have already fought 2 or 3 times in past Manias, and there would be no drama in that match.

2. Wade Barrett. It was Barrett's Nexus that helped Kane in that match, so Taker could be back to exact some revenge on the leader of the now Corre. It would make sense storyline wise. It would give Barrett a rub as an up and comer. It would also not give the fans that "main event" feel that Taker's Mania matches have come to be.

3. Triple H. This one seems to have the most fuel at the moment. Trips has been out for a looooooong time as Sheamus took him out, and for the longest time it seems a forgone conclusion that when Trips came back it would be for a revenge match against the man who took him out. But in recent weeks rumors have been flying that Triple H would return to challenge Undertaker's Mania streak and to get some revenge for Taker retiring his best friend Shawn Michaels just one year ago. There is also rumblings that HBK himself could be the special ref, but I think if Rock refs Cena/Miz, you don't want to do too many of those special ref things. An HBK run-in however would be a certainty.

4. For a few weeks Sting was the internet favorite to be the man behind the 2-21-11 videos, and he still could play a part in being "the man outside the shack." But my main issue with this is Sting is not going to come into the WWE for the first time in his career just to lay down for the UnderTaker. I think Sting could make an appearance, and he could be at Mania, but he won't be involved with the Undertaker.

5. Which brings me to who I think it should be. Its a main event guy who has been gone for a few months. He has some backstory with Taker that could be addressed. He could return and say he has done everything there is to do in his career, except beat the Taker at Mania. My hopeful to face Undertaker at Mania, AND to interupt Taker's return tonight, would go down something like this...

Taker is in the ring (after taking 10 minutes to get there) and just as he grabs the mic to start talking, we head to the Titan Tron....

Everyone knew it was Triple H coming into tonight, but a lot of fans hoped it would be something different.

It was nothing different.

Triple H vs. Undertaker will be a great match, in ring, but there is no point for the "fued" and it completely ignored the storylines that both Taker and HHH were involved in when they were sidelined from Raw and SmackDown.

There is still not a "can't miss" match for Wrestlemania. I understand that HHH vs Undertaker was made because it was a weak card, but the total card is just silly. There have been plenty of Wrestlemanias that were weak outside of the Main Event and 1-2 other matches, but there isn't one match that is one that can drive a PPV drive.

I agree. Triple H vs Taker will be a good story because Trips will be seaking revenge for HBK and will want to be the man to break the streak, but the match itself has been done.

Punk vs Orton...Raw quality.

Miz vs Cena...Raw quality.

Edge vs Del Rio...Raw quality.

King vs Cole....please.

There is NO big match to make people buy this. Rock is the only thing going for them. I see a VERY low buyrate for this. The "new" guys just don't have "it."

Yep...I usually watch Mania but I will not be doing that this year, unless I can find it for free on the computer. I don't need to watch it to see The Rock talk some and maybe rock bottom Cena or something like that.

Someone mentioned before that HHH could put his career on the line...I shot that down but did read that it is a possibility.

I know HHH likes his new role but the thought was that he still wanted to wrestle and would come back on a limited basis(probably just PPVs and live Raw events).

The WWE needs main eventers so bad that I think HHH will stay for now and it will just be a normal match..but I do think Michaels will be the ref.

I am guessing that you will see HHH/Shaemus and Taker/Kane wrestle before Mania and its possible that the fueds could just be held off until after Mania...Taker will probably fued with Barrett soon after WM.

They are saying that Del Rio will win(whoopee! ) and I am sure Cena will win.

I think the best thing that can come out of WM for the WWE would be a heel turn by Cena...Cena being pissed that the fans love The Rock even though he left them. The idea of why bother anymore? I could really see that being the next thing for the WWE and carrying them through the rest of the year.

I think this could be the WM of guest refs...The Rock as the ref for Cena/Miz, Michaels for Taker/HHH and JR for Cole/Lawler.

That's the type of stuff that they will need to do to get fan excitement.

I am surprised to see them giving Del Rio the title shot so early but they really feel they need that latin star with Mysterio being hurt all the time.

The best match will be HHH/Taker but the next best match will probably be the MITB, which I am sure they will have this year because there are too many guys like Morrison and Shaemus who have very few storylines right now.

You also have to think that some kind of stipulation will be put in the Orton/Punk match. It has to be something more than a regular match.

They should make the loser leave the Brand or something. Smackdown needs someone new. Del Rio is boring (to me) and Edge has been at the top for awhile over there. Undertaker will be back but hes not really a regular competitor. Orton on Smackdown would be decent. If HHH doesn't leave it would be great for him to be a monster heel over there, but there needs to be a shakeup. I guess the draft will address that though...

The whole thing is very weak, I hope they throw some twists in there before WM. Predictable isn't always bad, but the program has to be good. Unfortunately theres not too many ways to twist Taker/HHH. HBK could ref, or maybe they end up tag teaming against Barret/Kane, but none of this is overly interesting. Cena/Miz is only interesting because of the Rock, and Lawler doesn't really appeal to anyone.

I was considering catching this at Buffalo Wild Wings, but now I don't really care.
