OFFNY

Hey, sorry to temporarily derail the baseball talk, but I'm about to get promoted from Norfolk to the majors, and I would like to know if one of you premium members can assist me with my name change. I know that there is a $35 fee for my promotion, and Tony told me that we are permitted one name change upon entering the majors. I want to add on "New York" to my current "Oriole Fan From." Is there a link that you can guide me to changing my name ??? Also, is there a maximum number of characters that I can use for my name change ??? I'd like to become "Oriole Fan From New York," but if that is too many characters, I will simply become "OFFNY." Thanks. :)

Sincerely,
Oriole Maniac from Brewster, New York. :)

Are you sure you don't just want to be OFFNY? I like it better, anyway. It's clever. As far as your question, I'm sure somebody will give you a better answer than I can.

NEVER trust my memory..... but both those sound very familiar. They may be taken. Tony or whomever would have to check.

Welcome to the majors! Do you mind if I turn that acronym into an acrostic and call you "Offny"?

OFFNY noun \ˈȯf-nē\
Definition of OFFNY:
A legendary figure who battles bandwagons full of of MFY fans from within enemy territory.

That's fine. And actually, in September of 2008, a Yank fan put me on youtube. I was in the right-field bleachers (the nastiest section of Yankee Stadium). During the 7th-inning stretch, I was standing and waving my Oriole towel proudly while thousands of Yankee fans taunted me with "revamped" lyrics to the Village People song, YMCA. I'm sure you can imagine what the words were. They thought that they were making me look bad, but in fact, I looked like a man that was not afraid to wave the Orange and Black banner, regardless of how nasty several thousand Yank fans can be to a minority. :)

BOY HOWDY! I only got to old Yankee Stadium once. We sat in the last regular section around in RF. Right next to the bleachers...

Those bleachers are SCARY! I'm pretty bold and brave, and even hyped up on Coor's Light I wouldn't set foot in those bleachers! :eektf:

Yankee fans are all bark, no bite, espcially now. The bleachers are probably way more expensive in the new place, effectively pricing out the jerks.

Oh, the jerks are all still there. You can get bleacher seats on ebay and stubhub for as cheap as $4, and once a week, you can get tickets right off the Yankee website for $5 (it's called "Five Dollar" day, and it's usuallly an afternoon game during the week.)

You're right about the all bark no bite, though.

It's sad to say out loud, but it's almost as bad at OPACY when the Yank$ are in town.
