I feed my new girl Blue Buffalo (http://www.bluebuffalo.com/products/dogs/basics.shtml) Basics. I mix the two brands together. I haven't seen any results yet but she loves them both. She has dry skin so that is why I have her on the Salmon as well. It is a bit expensive but I can afford a few extra dollars to see this girl live long and healthy.

I feed my dog, she has special skin needs, Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul, light formula. She has and always will have, demodectic mange. She handles this food quite well. Warning though...it's not cheap and might be hard to find.

My other dog needs to have special kidney food from the veterinarian.

My cats get the Blue Buffalo dry food. Them seem to be doing quite well on it.

Dog and cat get all kinds of Hills Prescription Diet (both dry and canned) and dog also get some Purina Pro Plan.

I think these are some of the best, or at least according to vets, foods out on the market.

Barely pay anything for their food too.

I went with Pro Plan for a while but my dog is so darn fickle that I need to keep switching brands. Not only that, he will go on a hunger strike if I don't put real red meat in every meal. I usually get a big baking pan and mix in about 5 bucks worth of ground beef in with as much Pro Plan I can fit in.. bake for about 10 min at 350 degrees and all of the fat and meat gets mixed in. I give him 5 cups a day of that and put it in the fridge until it's gone.

I know that sounds insane but he will literally stop eating unless there's something "real" in there.

Wellness (http://www.wellnesspetfood.com/index.aspx) Brand is a bit more expensive, but it has been great for us. Now that our pup is a few years old, we mix the dry with the wet food once a day.

Look at the ingredients. If they are all something you recognize, then you are doing alright.

My beagle has an odd food allergy and it seemed like no matter brand/flavor we'd give him, he'd ultimately have gas and/or the runs. It was pretty miserable and frustrating. But working with our vet, we finally found a dry food that "works" with him and that's Natural Balance Sweet Potato & Venison. It's been about 2 years since the switch and I couldn't be happier. It's definitely not cheap, but it's worth it.

It also scores very high on this dog food rating. (http://www.the-puppy-dog-place.com/dog-food-ratings.html)

Diamond Naturals Large Breed Puppy (http://bit.ly/h4mL0H)

It's about $37 bucks for 40 lbs. at the feed store.

My English Bully had serious skin issues from beef. I used Canidae Lamb/Rice.

Great info at that site. Essentially, the higher the meat and lower the corn meal, the better the food is.

Nutro.

My vet recommended it from the beginning.

Because I have an english bulldog, they tend to have health issues, so he felt this would be a good food for him.

And he was right...Its been great.

Of course, its ridiculously expensive but its worth it.

When I got my dog, I obsessed over which food to feed him. I was overly concerned about making sure he gets proper nutrition, etc. That all went out the window the first time I caught him eating out of the cat litter box.

That being said, this site was very helpful to me:
Dog Food Analysis (http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/)

We had to do a lot of experimenting to find the right food for our dog. Some foods with a lot of chicken in it made his eyes get really goopy. He also gets horrible gas when he is on certain foods, such as food with lamb.

We ended up settling on Diamond Premium Adult. It's a low-end food, but works well for our dog. We buy it at Tractor Supply. At $24.99 for 40 lbs, it's cheaper than a lot of the lower end foods (like Beneful, etc). It works well with our dog's system, and he seems to like it.

Nah, I'm very content with Blue Buffalo. Pretty much all the sites rank it at the top or near the top and she LOVES it. So that is very important to me.

Luigi was eating Beneful for a while but has switched back to Purina One.

Whatever you do don't introduce them to people food. I warned Mrs. Soprano about this...to no avail. Now, he loves to come begging for whatever we're eating.

Too late. That has already been done by whoever had her first. We are working to correct that issue.

Royal Canin Small Breed Special 33.

Mix in a teaspoon of the Beniful wet dog food or they don't eat regularly which ruins their walking pattern. Important stuff in a 4th floor condo.

Frankey and Flicker both get Innova dry food.

We learned the hard way to keep apples and pears out of the fruit bowl in the living room and tomatoes off the counter because One of Us (I'm not mentioning any names, but her initials are "Frankey") will snag them and have a treat on the bed.

I think it's wonderful how there are so many of us, who spoil our special friends. :) Kudos to all.:clap3:

We feed both of ours Beneful Healthy Weight. They both seem to really like it, one has a weight issue, the other doesn't. They get their share of treats, and although it probably counteracts the healthy weight food, they LOVE french fries.
