I moved to Philly (again) last month. I had to for work...anyways as you may have heard parking is ridiculous here. Most of the time I leave my car at work (free parking!); I can actually walk to work, but it was 25 minutes to do so. So I decided to get a road bike, which cut my commute down to 8 minutes. Plus I feel like I'm helping the environment or something.

Anyone else here ride either to work or for pleasure? I bought a vintage Falcon Black Diamond for 200. Its a little chipped up paint wise, but as Newman once said, "Baby, this is one sweet ride". Its light and gets the job done.

Normally I'd say - better than your mom does with my 18" - but I won't go there.

I ride a 15 year old, outdoor kept, Huffy Mt Storm All over Harrisburg. I take it to the Pedal Pusher preseason and get a 25 dollar tune up and they shake their heads. Tight. Oh, and I lock it with a Bike club.

Bikes are awesome. Forget $4/gal for gas. We have one vehicle in the household and the lady drives it. I'll walk/jog/bike/public transpo wherever I need to go.

I'm a big fan of bikes! Especially the kind that are American-made, have air-cooled V-twin motors, lots of chrome, and are LOUD.

There's something about this post that is making me giggle uncontrollably.

The tires are mismatched as well.

Does that $25 include replacing the streamers every year or do you have to pay extra for those? ;)

I kid, of course. I love bikes. Don't own one and not convinced I learned how to ride one well enough 20 years ago to be able to ride now. But not having any space for one is the main dealbreaker.

No.

No streamers or bell. They did not even straighten the bent holder for a long broken front reflector. But I took care of it with needle nosed pliers.
