Isn't where we left a village on base. It isn't where we failed to jump on another blown save by Mo.
It's the fact that the run that made the difference in this game was score because of an error. A stinkin error cost us the game.

I'm gonna go with the village left on base.
We gave up 1 run in 14 innings. That should always be enough.

True... but wouldn't have mattered if we hadn't made that error in the 5th..

Theoretically true . . . but . . . remember who we're talking about. Besides, the team must have known that Guthrie was going to pitch tonight. So, they made sure to follow form.

Luke Scott has nothing. His at bat with the bases loaded and one out was horrible. .526 ops in the last 45 at bats. Hurt shoulder, slow in lf, no arm ... Maybe it's time we see what Pie and Snyder can do. Luke just needs some time off.

I agree. It may be the injury, but Luke is not swinging with authority like he normally does.
As for the game, I'd LOVE to be able to destroy Gonzo here, because I am SOOOOOOO done with this guy, but we gave up 1 run through 14 innings and had multiple chances to win the game. This one is sqarely on the offense.

The worst part of the game was that yet another rookie pitcher making his debut against the Orioles was made to look like Mariano Rivera.
I think it's a just a well known fact around the league at this point that you always start your inexperienced pitchers against Baltimore because you're guaranteed a confidence boost for the young arm.

Think of it this way: without that error, Colon probably comes out for the 9th to complete the shutout. Why he didn't do that in the first place is beyond me, as we weren't really touching him at all. But the Yankees want to pad Mo's stats, so they brought him in to blow the save.
So I also have to go with the plethora of wasted scoring opportunities as the ultimate reason for losing last night.

Similarly to what we've done with every team Britton has faced this year, right?

He is a streak hitter. He is in a slump and when the lefty came in, Fox should have pinched hit.
