Not what you thought ;) In a belated announcement dated July 20 (hey, things have been busy, travel etc.) the Shorebirds announce, "RHP Matt Hobgood activated off the Shorebirds DL and transferred to Aberdeen"
Today is July 20, Doc. ;)
What this means is that the 30 day period for him to be considered rehabbing and not take up a spot on Aberdeen's roster is over, so now he counts against the roster limit. Same thing happened with Ryan Berry today and Jake Cowan a few days back.

Thanks for the explanation. I was thinking that once a player was actually pitching in games, his rehab was over and he should be on that roster.
The "belated" was meaning that he should have been moved to the Aberdeen roster before he actually pitched and that the paperwork was just now (July 20) catching up with the actual event. I realized that Bret Lassky and the team were traveling to Rome and that press releases could be behind actual evets.
It seemed like old news to post, but I want to keep everyone up to date as possible - even regarding "paperwork."
P.S. - Hate to steal pitchers frrom you, but I hope the next time I type "Hobgood" and "transactions" is to report he is moving up again :)
Yeah, he was just rehabbing with Aberdeen while on the Shorebirds' DL. Now he's no longer on the DL, so he's taking up an Aberdeen roster spot. He is still rehabbing in all but the technical sense, and he'll probably move up to Delmarva before too long. I might not even get to see him pitch while he's with the IronBirds.
