Not too familiar with the writer, but according to the bio he worked in the Dodgers front office from 2000-2002, scouted for the Mets from 2003-2006, and scouted for Baseball America from 2007-2010.

Interesting to see Correa ranked #1. He's generally been in the 10-15 range among HS prospects by most other sources. Based on the little I've read about him, sounds somewhat similar to Machado.

Buxton and Giolito are my two early favorites for the O's pick. We're getting thin on OF prospects and Buxton sounds like the real deal, and Giolito seems to be the top HS arm by a fair margin.

Smoral is another guy rated higher on this list than other places. Admittedly do not know much about him, but I'd probably want a bit more ceiling in whoever the O's choose with their 1st rounder.

Williams is very interesting and this Spring will probably determine a lot asto how serious of a candidate he is for the O's pick.

Gavin Cecchini was probably the most notable omission from this list.

YIkes. "Sparkled" is not an adjective I'd use to describe Williams' performance this summer -- and I'm one of his biggest fans, from talking with scouts at the event.

Gallo, a 1b only kid with big holes, seems an odd choice.

Stotle,
I am wondering what your thoughts on David Dahl are?

Can hit. Tracks well in the outfield. Solid arm. 1st Round follow.

Vid from when I saw him in Jupiter -- with FTB Mizuno/Cardinals Scout Team (probably best team on paper at the event):

I've you-tubed a bunch of the top amateur guys and Dahl would be my favorite so far. Nice short stroke and goes the other way with power. Supposedly has a very solid all around game. Unless a pitcher look like the total package, I really hope the O's go for a hitter this year. Didn't like what I saw from Lucas G. Looks like a really good arm who struggles with release point. I like Dahl better than Buxton from what I've seen.
