I just can't hear one more time how scrappy they played tonight and how many bad calls they received and how close they are to turning these games around into Oriole Wins. They embarrass themselves and the team with this constant excuse making. They should be fired. Just tell it like it is and not how they want it to be,

Not if it's true. A team can play hard and lose. They can play hard and make mistakes. And a team can lose because of bad calls. Rivera's two called strikeouts were pathetic.

Sounds like I was fortunate to have the MY9 Yankee feed instead of MASN tonight. Jim Hunter makes me want to punt baby seals.

Yeah, annoying, but some fans eat that crap up.

That's what got Jon Miller fired. They're exactly the kind of shills that MASN/Angelos wants.

If that was true Palmer would have been gone a long time ago.

Palmer has a trump card, in being the franchise's best pitcher ever. Even Angelos won't fire Cal, Brooks, or Palmer.

While I do think there were some positives in last night's game, I too am sick of hearing how our "scrappy" team really "battled" against the Yankees. Maybe it was OK to say that 5 years ago (when, by the way, the Orioles actually split the season series with the Yankees and at one point were 8-4 against them). But we've been 5-13 against them 3 years in a row, and it feels like we win about 40% of the games where we "battle" against them and then they murder us about 6-8 times a year in addition.

Let's face it, the Yankees tried to give us that game, and we wouldn't take it. We couldn't buy a clutch hit yet they gave us three runs on wild pitches -- and we still couldn't beat them or make key plays when it counted. I'm very aggravated and it has nothing to do with the ump's wide strike zone.

Fair point, but then again Joe Angel is no shill and he's been calling the O's for 8 years (on radio, same as Miller). I just don't think Angelos demands his announcers candy coat the team. There are some that do and some that don't for every team.

Losing games rubs me the wrong way more than anything.

If we were 5-0 and going for the sweep instead of 3-2 and trying to avoid the sweep, annoying stuff would probably be a little less annoying and slightly more comical.

Why exactly did Brooks ever stop calling the games? Hopefully it was his decision.

Brooks hasn't been on the broadcast team for almost twenty years now and I don't think he left with a good tast in his mouth.

Did he just leave because channel 2 lost the broadcast rights and there was no room for him on HTS? Seems like somebady should have made room.
