Does anyone know how we've done against Sturtze in the past? I figure with him getting a spot start and getting the Unit on short rest we have a great shot to sweep this small series and gain some momentum going into the Boston series back home.

The O's have hit Sturtze faily well in the past. I look for a high scoring day, highlighted by the return of SAMMY SOSA!

I would rather watch the Orioles than the Nats any day of the week.
Eitherway, Melvin Mora just made one of the best defensive plays ever. That was so sweet.

I guess we better hope Chen is just shaking off some rust and can settle down and give us 6. Then we just need to hit Sturtze like we should be able to. Sorry, I'm off dreaming again.

Woot. Williams strikes out.
Haha, Matsui comes out to the Kill Bill theme. I really dont know why its funny but it is.
The ESPN coverage is so much better than the CSN coverage today. ESPN guys are giving Orioles major credit. Unlike most people in this thread, they still think Chen is injured and htat is why it is 3-0 Yankees already.
Matsui crushed that homerun. It was off the 3rd deck. That was a sweet shot. Heck, if your going to hit a homerun, make it a shot.
Still not worried, Sturtze doesnt look good.

Did Chen look bad, or just get hit on good pitches? Sadly ESPN here is showing the Indians game (second straight time the Orioles were the listed ESPN game and I got Cleveland instead.)
Got behind 5 out of 6 hitters and floated a meatball about belt high to Sheffield of all people. Gotta throw first pitch strikes or you will get killed, I don't care if you're playing the Devil Rays.

So what do you think? How many times have the Orioles left runners on base, that 95% of other teams would have scored, and then get pummel right after. The Orioles offense is truly disfunctional.
We got people in the line just to get 3000 hits, not neccessary to be a consistant RBI man. And if anyone got a problem with that, then read the freakin Sun paper. We got a player in there trying to hit his 600th HR, that havent knock a run in since?????. And obviously got a clause that say he dont bat below 5th.

Chen is hurt, but he has been bad for his past 4 or 5 starts. This is just a sign of a much larger problem, an inexperienced, overachieving pitching staff. Something needs to be done before this season slips away from us.

How does Mazz divvy up the rest of the innings today? Williams through the 4th, Reed for an inning, Ray for an inning or two, Byrdak in there somewhere...
And here I thought it was ridiculous for the O's to have an 8-man bullpen.

June 3rd:

June 8th:
6 IP, 3 ER, 6 H, 1 BB, 2 K
June 14th:

June 20th:
5 IP, 9 H, 6 ER, 2 BB, 4 K
June 25th:
4.2 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 3 K

You know why he left that game early? Just take a guess...BECAUSE OF AN INJURY! That injury is the one that he was pitching with today. Who cares how many games we won during that streak? We didn't win those games because our offense couldn't score runs. That's not Chen's fault. The way people are reacting to today's game in terms of Chen is ridiculous.
