Caps sign Nylander

This is a big signing for the Caps. Along with Nylander they also signed Viktor Kozlov and Tom Poti.

This a big step in the right direction. Look for the caps to really contend this year.

I bet Ovechkin is happy

Yeah the Caps are definately making an improvement by picking up them guys. If Nylander can do for Ovie what he did for Jagr, Ovechkin could have a huge year. Also Tom Poti is a rock on defense.

I think the Caps will be right there around the last playoff spot next season. I would like to see them make it in, just because I'm a huge Ovechkin fan, but its going to be tough in the much improved East.

As far as my Flyers...wow. They really could be a worst to first story for next year. Now there is even a rumor that Selanne could be going to Philly. Once we free up some cap space, with Rathje.

I'm really excited for the Caps this year. I took my girlfriend to the last game of the season, and was shocked to see that the visiting fans (i.e., Buffalo Sabres) outnumbered the Caps fans by AT LEAST 2 to 1. On a not-so-sour note, I won a hockey puck autographed by Brian Sutherby. But I digress. Heh.

Anyway, I hope this year marks the Caps return to respectability.

The off-season signings really have me pumped for the upcoming season, especially Poti. Imagining him out there on the ice almost erases the terrible memory I have of Joel Kwiatkowski... This team is on the verge of something special!
