This came out yesterday (July 3). Guns N' Roses were my favorite band and I quite enjoyed Stone Temple Pilots (particularly their first two records).

However, I was a little disappointed with "Contraband" (VR's first album). Some great songs on there, but a lot of it sounded the same like recycled thrash metal. So I'm approaching this one warily. I'll probably buckle and download it off iTunes before the end of the week, but I was wondering if anyone had picked it up already and had anything positive or negative to say about it.

I like it better than Contraband....it has a better sound to it, they sound a lot more in control of the whole flow of the CD this time around (if that makes sense) just flows better I guess.

Music is pretty good on it though, so I'd pick it up if I were you.

Contraband was a decent album, but it seemed like there were 3 or 4 songs on it that just didn't cut it for me. I will get Libertad because I like Slash's guitar playing and Weiland's vocals. I sure hope this album is a step up for the band.
