This is the heavily talked about trailer that premiered before the new Transformers movie. Much isn't known about the movie. Heck, the title isn't known. Only the codename "Cloverfield" has been revealed, along with the release date of 1/18/2008.

The video (and sound) quality is kinda lousy, but you get the gist.

I like, I like!!! :002_sdrool:

By the way, in case you can't tell that's the head of the State of Liberty rolling down the street at the end of the video.

Yep, that had to have been the best trailer I've ever seen.

It's J.J. Abrams, Lost creator. So that means we won't know what the movie is about until after the credits :p

Seriously, THAT is how you make a trailer.

Looked even better on the big screen. I honestly can't remember a single trailer other than this one. All I can remember thinking was, "What was the name of that movie? Did I miss it?? CRAP!!".

Any guesses as to what this movie may be? A Godzilla remake/redux perhaps??

That's what I thought. And if anyone goes to see that movie where the British dude was singing in a bowling alley, I will disown you.

Is it just me or is the State of Liberty's head a little out of scale?

Also, maybe it's just me, but the "monster" in the trailer sounds a little like The Island (i.e., the smoke monster on LOST). Thoughts?

People are speculating it could be based on a Lovecraft story about Cthulhu or something.

In any regard, it's got me intrigued and I haven't been this interested in finding out more about a movie since The Blair Witch Project.

Leave it up to JJ Abrams to have us asking more questions even though it's not related to Lost!

... or is it???

My best friend thinks it might be Cthulhu as well. How sweet would that be?

Personally, I'm hoping it might have something to do with the oft-rumored Voltron movie. Wishful thinking, I know. :D

I'm really starting to hate viral marketing.

I wouldn't mind something like this if we got information about the movie, say, 2 weeks or a month later, but I doubt we'll be getting any info. on this movie anytime soon.

Now, I'm all hyped up to see a movie I know nothing about and I won't even be able to see it until next year.

There isn't much info there as yet. I have to say though, what I did see, I didn't like. Apparently the guy who wrote the script also wrote a script for .... a new Street Fighter movie, due in 2008. That just screams Uwe Boll-goodess to me ... not too encouraging.
