Chad Thall

Hey guys,

I have not heard much about Chad Thall. I took the family to a Shorebirds game this past weekend, and he closed out Jeff Moore's game impressively. He seems to throw pretty hard, and has a nasty curve. Does anyone have the scoop on this kid?

It looks like he was a draft and follow (27th round) in 2005 from Missouri. He had a spectacular year with Aberdeen last year, and after a rough start to the year, has really turned it on the past couple of months. Someone to keep an eye on I think.

You're right, he started out very poorly, probably while on a road trip as his home/road split is very large. Since April he has been lights out. The K, BB, and HR rates all look good. He was especially nasty in June with a 17-1 K:BB rate in 12 innings.

Does anyone know his chances of being promoted to Frederick in the second half?

I honestly thought Thall or Perez would have been promoted before Bergesen. I've been keeping a keen eye on Thall hoping that he'll get up here at some point before the season's out.
