I hear a lot of people on here saying that Jason Dubois should be up here soon along with Knott/House. But he's hitting .238 with a .705 OPS.

I would much rather see Majewski up here and I think he deserves it more.

AMEN!!!!

And......as seems to be crminally overlooked, Val is hitting over .300 vs. lefties....And.....he can actually play the position....

Does the warehouse intend to keep Val in Bowie for the rest of the season?

Since the begining of the year who said Dubois should be up here. I haven't seen it anywhere.

Check out the major league boards, it's everywhere. Someone suggested Val be called up and it was almost laughed at, but I've been down to Bowie a bunch of times this year and he's always out there working hard, he looks like he's in a zone or another world. He's been making good contact and they finally started dropping in and the average and OBP reflect it. The one game I saw in Norfolk, I wasn't impressed with DuBois, who was DHing that game. At that time he was hittinig .215, so I don't know where this stuff about him deserving a call up is coming from. I don't see the point in calling up a below average hitter/fielder when Val can field and hit, and I'm sure if he extended his arm he would be able to catch the ball that went 6 inches over the wall last night at the yard.

Hmmmm. It sounds as if our good friends who read mostly the major's board would benefit by reading more of this board.

The Orioles would benefit by bringing up Val as soon as they are done showcasing what they have for trade. (Trade someone else - not Val -- then bring up Val.)

Majewski is currently slugging .390 in AA. His OPS isn't much better than Dubois' at .743. He has only 3 homeruns in 313 at bats. Dubois doesn't deserve to be in the majors right now, but neither does Majewski.

With deference to Drungo, stats will tell you anything you want in a vacuum. Give them a little perspective and you will notice that Val has been hitting better and better after a very slow start. Ask anyone that has watched his progress this year and they will tell you that he has been moving in the right direction ever since. Other than not hitting many homers, he has been hitting very well over the last 2.5 month, including many doubles.

And, why is defense overlooked in the equation? Val is a very good OF'er. It's ok for the Warehouse to bring up Fahey for defense but not Val, for defense and to give a former top prospect at shot at building on what looks to be a return to form at the plate.

He deserves a shot to be called up when the opportunity arises more than anyone OF'er in the system, including Knott, who has been called up a couple of times despite pretty dismal numbers and a glove better used as a fruit basket.

Glove as a fruit basket, I love it. We need some kind of Bring Back Val campaign.

Yeah, I do read a lot of the majors boards too, but rest assured, I have been to many many minor league games and only 5 O's games (though I do catch them on TV whenever possible). I'm a minor league kind of guy. I cannot get enough of the promotions. My favorite this year was when I got to participate in the event in Bowie where you have to knock a ball over the outfield wall off a tee. I smacked the tee over and broke it into pieces. I still got the prize.

Got off track there. I've been reading more calls for Knott than DuBois, but he's struggling and like you said, has no defense (slightly more than DuBois though). At the very least they should throw Val in AAA to at least show they are attempting to do something with him and haven't lost him in the shuffle.
