Nothing like the "ting" of aluminum meeting a ball.....hopefully he can do the same thing with wood in his hands.

It's the SAME video that MLB had of Rowell the day we drafted him, nothing new. They have highlight videos of pretty much the top 225 guys and this was it...

I'm not sure when they updated it, but his video is different than the one shown above.

I'm not sure which one is newer...he looks bigger and taller in the youtube video and I know he altered his stance at some point, I think to emulate Barry Bonds. I would have to say the youtube video looks more like a Barry Bonds swing, while the draft video has him looking more like Sean Casey with the way he follows through with his swing.

He looks like a monster to me. Is he 17 or 18 in the film? God I pray to see him up with the big club.

He's going to be big time. His HR swing is a thing of beauty -- totally effortless.

Yep, he can hit. He needs to work on defense if the club plans to keep him as in infielder, especially 3rd base. He also needs to run the bases better. Luckily he's young and will get the opportunity to improve.

I believe he is 17 in the film. Because he was drafted when he was 17 and the video was supposedly shown when he was drafted

Yeah, it seems that there is a lot of criticism of his defense in scouting circles. This year he's made only 7 errors in 51 games, which strikes me as a good ratio for an 18-year old at the hot corner. On the other hand, he was about -10 PAA (plays above average) in 400 innings last year between Bluefield and Aberdeen, which seems to indicate he's not getting to a lot of balls he should. I couldn't find any of his fielding stats at Delmarva (other than the # of errors).

This is what I'm seeing in the games I've been to. He seems flat footed to me and doesn't react quickly. The crowd has gotten on him a few times for not getting dirty.
