What are the chances the O's can have the dimensions changed to be more in line with the stadiums in Bowie and Frederick so that when players are promoted to AAA, their numbers aren't skewed by the large dimensions at that stadium?

What are the dimensions?

What are the dimensions?

333-410-338

Which isn't that spacious. LF and CF are the same as Camden Yards. RF is deeper.

I thought the pitcher friendly nature of the park was due more to the wind than the outfield alignment, but I could be wrong.

Ok here is the breakdown of the stadiums...

Norfolk - LF: 333 CF: 410 RF: 338

Bowie - LF 309, CF 405, RF 309

Frederick - LF 325, CF 400, RF 325

OPACY - 337-L, 417-LC, 406-C, 375-RC, 320-R

I don't know what the wind is like at Norfolk, but I do know that Norfolk is at a very low altitude, which tends to make the ball carry less well (think Coors Field in reverse).

Ah, It can't be any lower than OPACY.

Those numbers for OPACY are incorrect. They should be 333-364-410-400-373-318. You might have the numbers from the one year they moved home plate back to make the dimensions bigger.

Yeah, Norfolk is about 20-25 feet above sea level, Baltimore 30-35. Not much difference.

Have you ever been to Norfolk in August? I have.

I wouldn't be surprised if the park is actually below sea level.

I can't find it listed anywhere. In this photo it looks like LF-C alley is 360-something, maybe? Have to squint. ;)

Harbor Park is right along the Elizabeth river and gets downwinds from the water.

Thats what I was going to say. :D

IIRC it isn't the dimensions that are the issue it is the strong winds blowing in from the OF that make it such a dominate pitchers park.
