I just spotted this from the Chris Kline chat from 27 July. With so many people disappointed in Rowell's numbers this year it's nice that he still got a mention here.


Q: Steve from San Diego asks:
Who are your top five prospects who have not yet reached AA?

A: Chris Kline: See, that's tough, San Diego, since this is me hanging out and chatting off the top of my head while 'Clap Your Hands Say Yeah' blares through my kitchen . . . but here are some names: Brett Anderson, lhp, Diamondbacks; Cameron Maybin, of, Tigers (that was easy!); Bill Rowell, 3b. Orioles; Chris Marrero, of, Nationals; Clayton Kershaw, lhp, Dodgers; Jacob McGee, lhp, Devil Rays; Travis Snider, of, Blue Jays. I'd somehow fashion the top five out of those names.

OMG :eek: ...you mean Rowell hasn't slid on his status despite not setting the world on fire just yet?:p With some of the second guessing going on around here about Lincecum and such, you'd think the kid was a total bust if you didn't know better. He's got some work to do, but you have to like is chances of being a perennial power-hitting all-star several years from now.

It must be a real treat to be a Shorebird fan right now with Rowell, Snyder, Vinyard, Tripp, Abreu, Bascom and Beato to watch.
