Just got back from Cooperstown...AWESOME!!!
I was at the Ironbirds game on Saturday at Double Day Field in Cooperstown...
John Mariotti was struck in the groin? and had to be taken out on a stretcher. I was sitting behind home plate and it was unbelieveable the shot hit back at him. My question...Does anyone have an update on this kid? I have seen him pitch several times...I like what I see from him!

Good to hear. I was at the same game with some friends and for the rest of the weekend, a couple hours wouldn't go by without someone mentioning the incident and commenting on how they hoped he was ok.
Also I was very impressed with the fact that he fielded the ball and threw out the runner before collapsing.

I spoke with him for about five minutes after last Sunday's game when he threw six marvelous innings. Super-nice guy and I'm glad to hear A) he finished the play before collapsing and B) that he's going to be alright.

Yeah that hurt just watching him lay there in pain. In a game with so many errors it was amazing that he stuck with the play before he went down. That was a wicked shot back at him though.
