There's a Pope listed as being the DH for Bluefield tonight. Can anyone confirm if he's back playing.

Also, could someone please remind me what his exact injury was, did he have surgery, etc?
Thanks

Wow that is good news. If I remember correctly, I thought it was something with his shoulder and I believe they opted for rest and rehab rather than season ending surgery.
This should make DocJJ happy to see him in the llineup. :D
Hoepfully he is ready to start producing too! :)
0-1 with a K and BB so far.

Looks like Paul Chmiel is back as well. Turned 20 in May and put up a .793 OPS in Bluefield last year.

But the question is which player is he? The one at Bluefield last year that could hit, or the one at Aberdeen that couldn't?

Good Point!
I saw him at Aberdeen last year...he was terrible, both at bat and in the field.
Why is he such a high profile prospect...he really didn't show me much last year.

I think he is suppossed to be one of those "5 tools" guys. These kids really are a crap shoot.
Lot of the "tools" guys dont make it because they cant hit a breaking pitch.
From what I have picked up that seems to be a big factor.

While 5-tool guys can be high risk / high reward, some do work out. Henson has developed very nicely this year and clearly fits the "toolsy" tag (super athletic 3-sport athlete in HS).
Pope is only 20, he still has time. Next year will be critical to determining whether or not he can become a starting prospect. This season will only be a month long for him, so while it would be nice to see him do well, it won't influence his ceiling very much one way or the other IMO.
