Still a loser.
* holdout? check
* charge 75 bucks for an autograph while you hold out? check
* Demand top-10 money for being the 22nd pick? check
What a loser. I knew the Browns shouldn't have drafted him.
* the next Kyle Boller? affirmative

Yeah, saw him on SportsCenter last night. Didn't realize that he was a holdout until I saw this interview. Definitely came off like he thought he was something special. I can't stand players like this ... especially rookie players that haven't stepped one foot on the field. Unfortunately, it seems like there's one or two of these guys a year.
The NFL needs some type of compensation like MLB has. I know losing a 1st round pick in the draft would hurt an NFL team much more than in baseball, but at least the teams would have a little more leverage is negotiations.
Nothing worse than hearing a guy who makes (or is about to make) MILLIONS of dollars talk about how he wants what he "deserves". Especially when it's a guy that's never played professional football and was skipped over by most of the league (including the team that ended up drafting him).

I think part of the blame also has to go to the ESPN types that hype up these players and come out with mock drafts that convince these guys that they are something special.

True, but I think it actually goes back to high school. People have been pampering these kids since before they could drive. Not just the NFL, but the NBA too.

Having the overrated Charlie Weis say he's better than anyone else but Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, or something along those lines hasn't helped. His agent, Tom Condon, is also a part of the problem. I grudgingly went along with that pick because Savage knows what he's doing, but I'm already getting sick of the crap he's pulling.

Man the Browns can't catch a break no matter what they do. Whether it is players getting hurt, holding out or sewage flooding the locker room, the Browns just seem to be cursed.
And that's the way I like it.

To be honest, the players that mattered from the draft are in camp and looking good. I mean exactly what I just said too.

And as soon as he signs on the dotted line you'll be in line waiting to buy a new Brady Quinn jersey and talking about how you have visions of him being the next Joe Montana.

Really? Brady Quinn isn't actually God? You mean, the Dolphins might have made the right move on passing a way over-rated QB to get a play-maker with tremendous speed and open-field running ability? Really?
Sorry. I'm still a little bitter over all the crap the Fins took on Draft Day. I'll bet any amount of money that Ginn/Beck turns out way, way better than Quinn/whatever we would have gotten in Round 2. Not to mention Lorenzo Booker stepping in to be a third down back.
BTW, when John Beck is starting in 2 years and Brady Quinn is riding the bench somewhere, I'm gonna walk up to Mel Kiper and laugh in his face.

He better be starting, because he'll be 35 at that point ant only have a couple years left :p
Seriously though, I thought he was a little bit overrated, but this really makes come off like a d*****bag.
May Bart Scott put some hot sauce on his leg until it catches fire.

I'll be with all you Ravens fans on rooting the demise of Brady Quinn. His over-hypededness (word? i think so) ruined draft day for the Fins. On a day they had a very, very productive draft, everything got overshadowed by us passing Quinn and a group of morons booing our new head coach.
I'm all for Bart Scott taking his leg off. But on October 14, JT gets to take the other one.

I still think Ginn was a bad pick as well, but Quinn is looking a lot more like the worse of the two options.

Technically, at 9, Ginn wasn't a great pick. However, here is what happened:
Cam Cameron wanted a guy with speed, who could be a game-changer. Ginn was his guy. There were all sorts of rumors flying around before the draft that Cameron was going to get Ginn, whatever it took. Whether it be trading back into the first round in the high teens where Ginn was expected to go, or trading down, getting Ginn there, and picking up another pick later in the draft. Well, when the time came for them to pick, they had their minds set on trying to move down and take Ginn. They didn't think they would be able to get back into the first round and take him, so they decided trading down and grabbing him 14-20 was the right play. However, with Quinn falling, most teams just expected Miami to take Quinn. Nobody wanted to move up, because the teams in that range weren't going QB any way. Therefore, no reason to lose a later round pick to go up and get a guy you don't want.
The Dolphins used their full 15 minutes, and when they finally couldn't trade down, they decided on taking Ginn, even though it was probably 5-10 slots too high for him. They figured, at least get the guy you want, rather than changing your strategy at the last minute. I actually applaud them for doing that.
Ginn was the guy I wanted all along in this draft. I know alot of people question his hands, his route running, and his size, and the concerns are legit. However, I just have the feeling that Ginn is going to be a superduperstar. In the return game, on all sorts of WR screens, reverses etc. He is the kind of exciting speed player the Dolphins have never had in my lifetime.
All that said, many people still think that QB is the way we should have gone, just because we haven't had a good one since Dan. However, I'll take John Beck (yes he is old. we'll see how it works out) over Brady Quinn. I would not be surprised at all if we see one year of Trent Green, and then Beck takes over the reigns next season.
Anyways, long story short, I love Ginn, and Go Fins.

You won't see me wearing any Brady Quinn jerseys. I learned my lesson when I got Tim Couch's, even if I only spent like 10 bucks for it haha.
I'm all for a D'Qwell Jackson jersey though.
He has signed

Five years, $20.2 million with $7.75 million guarenteed.
Sounds like closer to pick twenty-two money to me ;) :p

haha, I feel slimey when I cheer for him. It's hard. Sadly he was the only bright spot in the game. I'm definitely worried.

Heh. One wonders what he would have done against an actual defense. (I think the Lions are like 30th in ranking). Or rather, the starters on a team with actual defense. Nevertheless, he did manage to acquit himself rather well and at least not crash and burn too embarassingly. But Crennel's a defensive-minded coach. I wonder how much of a learning curve Quinn will get.

Was Quinn starting the game or was he playing during garbage time?

Garbage time. Though he did play better than the starter, Derek Anderson. Apparently Crennel flipped a coin to determine the starter.

The whole coin flip thing seems utterly ridiculous to me. Romeo Crennel is a head coach in the NFL, and he can't see ANY difference between Anderson and Frye to justify starting one over the other? There isn't some standout piece of effective QB criterion he can fall back on?
Flipping a coin makes it seem as if he can't evaluate players properly or as if he is just lazy. Either way, it sends a bad message to the team and the fans, in my mind.
Here's a pass by pass breakdown of Quinn in the game (with pictures).
At least he can hit the guy that's standing still with no one around him :)

The coin flip was evidently last week. This week Anderson started. DA was the guy who had the lead for the starting job at the start of camp but he's completely S the bed. I'm not sure I totally buy the coin flip, but there's been no indication it isn't true. Both starting candidates have been bad. Frye has been less bad. But after two weeks of complete ineptitude, I'm resigning myself that this is Romeo's last year.
The fact that the Lions completely schooled them in the time that mattered is a bit of a concern. Eventually they'll just mail a blank check to Cowher and tell him to fill in the numbers with whatever he wants. Cowher did play in Cleveland afterall and Steeler fans I know are admittedly worried about such an occurrance.

Frye traded to Seattle for a 6th rounder.
When do we see Quinn? I say if not this week, then next. Cleveland is awful. They might as well see what the future holds now.

And the Cowboys have the Browns first round pick next year.
