Indy nipped Norfolk, Trenton trounced Bowie, Frederick whipped Wilmington, Delmarva edged Asheville, Vermont axed Aberdeen, Bluefield split a doubleheader with Princeton, and the GCL O's lost to the GCL Red Sox.

There were plenty of stars out Saturday night, but Frederick's Chorye Spoone threw a one-hit complete game gem allowing one unearned run on five hits and two walks whiles striking out four. He's tonight's Orioles Hangout Player of the Night!

Recap:

Anthony Martinez drove in the tying and go-ahead runs and the Aberdeen IronBirds defeated Vermont 7-3 on Saturday night to take two out of three in the series.

Scottie just thought I'd help out!!!

The notes say J. Stephen, Aberdeen's 3bman, is being promoted to Frederick. He's jumping Delmarva, where Rowell is playing, of course. Stephen was a #8 pick last year out of Ohio State, so it shouldn't be that big a jump for him.

I wonder what happens lower down? Does Aberdeen have anyone else they'd move into that slot? The Bluefied 3bman is not performing well enough to be promoted, I think. Will they jump Kolodny to Aberdeen from Gulf Coast?

They did, in fact, move Matt Tucker (that 3b from Bluefield) up to fill the slot, and he came into the game as a pinch runner for Anthony Martinez in the 8th tonight. I don't know about his performance at third in Bluefield, but his line looks solid enough:

Team League AVG G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI TB BB SO SB CS OBP SLG OPS
BLU APP .312 38 141 30 44 14 3 4 35 76 23 33 4 2 .415 .539 .954

Ah, that explains it. I thought it was another guy (Silveren?) and not Tucker. Thanks.

Looks like the 31st round draft pick this year. Another older college guy from a school I've never heard of. Sure were a lot them this year.

He's certainly old enough to move up, and you're right, that line is excellent. So I guess that means does Kolodny move up to Bluefield?

If they are moving Stephen up to Fredrick, does this mean they are promoting Finan? Or is he injured?
