So when the Tigers dispose of MLB's slot "recommendations" in signing their draft pick, what are the consequences?

An uncomfortable frown from Bud Selig?

Are there *any* repercussions, or will they get off scot-free?

They will get off relatively scott free. They hosted the All Star game recently and knocking out teams that go above slot from consideration for hosting future All Star games seems to be the biggest stick that MLB is wielding.

It'd be interesting to know how far the O's are from hosting another to know whether the O's will be hurt at all. I know it's only been 14 years but not all cities/teams are going to get a chance to host anytime soon (until they get new parks, etc...).
