I just heard on WFAN that the Mets just acquired our old (and I do mean old ;) ) friend Jeff Conine for a pair of minor leaguers to fill the hole in their bench left when Damion Easley suffered a grade 3 ankle sprain Saturday night. Maybe he'll make it to the WS in some kind of orange uniform after all. :)

Hope the best for Conine. His last chance at the playoffs. He said he will retire after the season most likely.

Conine played long enough to earn atleast 30 million according to his baseball reference page. I hope he doesn't need his pension. Maybe he can slip me some money every now and then.
