It's a little ironic that I'm posting this, since I do smoke on occasion, but there's this woman in my office who has the most annoyingly wheezy laugh I've ever heard.

Often, I'll be over at the file cabinets doing some filing, and she'll be on the phone shooting the breeze with someone...and laughing CONSTANTLY. There's no way those are work-related calls.

It's a pretty quiet office, so I'll be sitting there doing work and all I hear is the hum of computer screens and the following:

*WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZEY LAUGHTER!!!!!!!*

...

"Uh huh. Huh. Yeah." *WHEEEEEEEEEZEY LAUGHTER!!!!!!!*

Guh. So annoying.

Do you work in my office?! There's a woman who works over in Subro with a major league cornpone accent, and whenever she BURSTS into the most annoying smokers laugh ever, I say the same thing -

"Not. One. Thing. Is that funny."

Exactly. My co-worker had better be talking to the reanimated corpse of Bill Hicks, with how much she laughs.

Nah. Kinison. Never thought Hicks was funny.

AND IT'S ON.

Please remind me how we're friends, again?

I'm oddly endearing, and Joylene's awesome. In fact, it may be the shock over said awesome woman being with me for so long that keeps you around. "How...how does that work, exactly??"

Just taking a shot.

And Hicks just reminds me of the annoying guys in my High School with their conspiracy theories about the gub'ment, down to the stupid looking hat and trenchcoat. And man, that bit about non smokers dying everyday? Oh, not funny.

And Kinison's attempts at music, while not good, he at least knew weren't good. Hicks's muscial recordings are disturbingly sincere.

What about people that sound like they always have a throat full of phlegm? So their speech is all bubbly-sounding? Is that caused by smoking or is that something else? I've never heard her cough and she doesn't smell like cigarettes, but my gosh, every time she talks I want to start madly clearing my throat. It's gross.

There's a genetic disease that makes people sound like that, but it only affects men, so that's not it.
