Pleeeeease use your turn signals when driving.

Despite any rumors you may have heard, I am not a mind reader.

Boy do I ever agree. I hate how people treat them like an optional personal inconvenience. Help prevent accidents you lazy bastuds!

It's not poker, people! It's a good thing to let your intentions be known.

Amen! I don't need to crash STRAIGHT FLUSH into someone's bumper!

I think all the "rules" established as to when to use your turn signal are overdone (ie, do we really need to see a turn signal when backing out of a parking space, or pulling into one? My mother thinks so!) but I do agree. The only time it really gets on my nerves though is when I'm turning right onto a road and there's only one car coming towards me on it, and he slows down to turn but doesn't use his signal. If he HAD, I could have gone that much sooner.

The only time I don't use a turn signal is if I'm in a lane that turns into a turning lane or if there's no one behind me.

Also, when you're done turning, please turn the signal OFF. How can you not hear all the TICK TICK TICK TICKing in your bleepin' car? The sound drives me crazy. I'll turn the signal on for 2 seconds before I turn/change lanes and it goes off as soon as I'm done. I can't believe people can drive for miles and not notice.

Loud music

I play loud music while I'm driving, too. Can these people not see the flashing light on the dashboard? I hope they have fun when they don't notice the Check Engine light or the "Your gas tank has 2 drops left" light and wind up waiting for a tow truck. And there's no way that every stupid person I see driving down a straight road with their left blinker on has loud music blasting. Just no chance. Total cluelessness just has to be the explanation.

And yes, italianstallion, you should have bet money on me showing up in this thread. I just can't resist. My complaints about the driving experience could fill a novel the size of Anna Karenina. :D

While seeing blinking lights and hearing ticking sounds aren't the same thing, we are totally on the same side.

Nothing enrages me more than people who give like one blink and then are all "I'm coming over let me in" or people who click their lever and turn the wheel all in one motion so that the thing doesn't even start blinking until they're in your lane.

Except people who are flying up the street opposite you and intend to make a right turn onto the street you're trying to make a left turn onto and don't have a signal on so you wait for them to pass and then it turns out you could have gone if only this person would've just let you know he wasn't going to cross the intersection and now you have to wait for another 500 cars to go by because it's 4:30 and God hates you; they might have an edge.

To be fair, not every car has the same TICKTICKTICK sound.

For example, when my mom bought a new car, the sound was noticeably quieter then her old one. The first couple times I drove it, I would be well beyond my turn before realizing it was still on.

Of course, I learned, which is a skill some people don't have :p
