I was up early this fine Labor Day morning for no good reason other than waking up to a horrible tear-bringing leg cramp at 5 AM.

Anyway, I couldn't go back to sleep, so I've been up since. Early this morning, I caught a movie on Starz called "the Baxter." I enjoyed it very much.

It's from the guys that formed Stella and the State (Michael Showalter, David Wain, Michael Ian Black).

Anyone else seen this? Anyone fans of Stella/State? I seen their stand-up some on Comedy Central, but I hadn't seen their shows yet.

This is one of my wife's favorite movies...she was a big fan of The State back in the day...

I enjoyed the movie as well, good quirky romantic comedy. Peter Dinklage stole every scene he was in. I wasn't completely sold on Michael Showalter as a romantic lead, but he was serviceable. I liked it well enough to recommend it to anyone who liked The State/Stella or anyone with an affinity for romantic comedies.

I love Mike Sho, and I've been meaning to see this.

I saw this and was kind of unimpressed. I didn't sit down and watch the whole thing, I sorta had it on while I was making some dinner and such, but it didn't grab me as being particularly funny.

The biggest problem was probably trying to compare it to the ridiculous masterpiece that is Wet Hot American Summer.
