"Yankees Suck" Chants

I was talking to a Sox fan at the game today and he asked me "Why do the O's fans yell Yankees Suck? Have you guys looked at the standings recently?

This really drives me nuts, especially when Our own fans do it in unison with the Sox fans. Boston fans are obsessed with the Yankees, I get that, but the Oriole fans just sound silly obsessing about a rivalry that doesn't exist. The Orioles suck right now, the Yankees are about to make the playoffs for the 11th straight year. Stop it O's fans, just stop it, it's downright embarassing.

It was right after a bunch of O's fans in our section started it for absolutely no reason. The yankees were only 450 miles away. I'm not defending the Sox guy either, don't get me wrong.

It was just so out of place. Both teams today were playing pretty well, the fans were cheering for both sides. Everything was fine until it happened. I just don't get it, that's all.

Ironically enough, after the Pats/Jets game today, the Jets fans were chanting "Brady Sucks" while he was doing a post game interview. Brady just shrugged and said to the reporter "I'm getting the Brady Sucks chant, this after we beat them 38-14". Sort of the same idea.

It really is, we're so far away from the Yankees it's ridiculous.

It is embarrassing, but it's also a bonding experience. Heck, I think it's just as embarrassing for Sox fans to start up that chant while playing the Orioles at Camden Yards.
