- Running game looks to be back
- Well executed screen passes all night
- Went down field more
- The line was a little shaky at times but was pretty decent
- Defense looked very good....Just had too many short fields to overcome a very good offense....24 of Cinci's points came off of TOs
- Very good adjustment in second half for the secondary
- Obviously Cinci has the better QB and better defense but we are a better team than Cinci....We just gave them this game tonight but i don't come away thinking that they beat us if we only turn it over 4 times, much less 6.

Hard to believe there were positives in this game. McGahee did look excellent tonight. Just a shame we didn't see more of him during crucial times.
Plus, even with all the adversity they never gave up.
I just hope they can put this loss behind them. Lord knows the Orioles wouldn't.

They are in that locker room saying that they gave the game away. I think they feel like they are the better team.
Look, losing the opening game, on Monday, on the road to a division rival is not a bad loss. Realistically, going into the season, you hope to go 4-2 in the division...Split with Pitt and Cinci.

If we can get the offense to a point where it is not giving the game away, this defense is almost TOO talented.
Seriously, we could win out. We won't, but man, the D looked THAT GOOD.

And the biggest positive is that we were in this game right up to the very end despite 6 turnovers. We can rest assured they won't turn it over that many times in one game again this season, right?
Right?
Right?

The O- line sucked big time most of the night.
McNair is all but done...no zip on pace and no accuracy
RUN the damn ball!!!
And Cincy has a better D??! Huh?!

Run blocking was excellent tonight, IMO.
One guy who needs to step it up a shade is LeRon McClain at fullback. He missed a bunch of blitzes tonight.

I don't think this franchise will ever have an effective offense. It doesn't seem to matter who is calling the plays, who is under center, who is in the backfield, or who is catching passes. They never get over the hump. The margin for error is always razor thin. They seem to always run when they should pass and pass when they should run. They're so close, and yet so far.
I don't get it.

McGahee made the line look good...we're so use to Jamal

Playcalling and the QB...that's the reason

What was up with Clayton tonight? He was a no-show.

I think you are (like a lot of people in Baltimore) confusing "effective" with "dominant".
We had effective offenses in 2000, 2001, 2003, and 2006. They got the job done, even if they didn't score all of the points other teams did, or were as balanced.

He was doubled most of the night. His ankle probably isn't 100% yet either
I thought the special teams was a major plus for us tonight. We constantly had good returns and good field position, when we weren't having Ed Reed score a touchdown.
Also, I was very impressed with McGahee.

Yea, i meant to talk about ST.
ST were great tonight, both on coverage, returns, punting and FGs.

Tell me that watching the Ravens try to move the ball down the field isn't like watching a cripple try to climb up a flight of stairs.
Yeah, they sometimes do just barely enough to get by. But even then they make it much harder than it should be. Considering the consistent dominance of Baltimore's defense, an "effective" offense would have resulted in a better record and more playoff success. And that is taking parity into account.
There certainly were some positives, but I'm not getting all this McGahee love, he was decent, but if one just read this thread, they would think he had a great game. He had 77 yards on 19 carries, 4.1 YPC against a poor defense.

McGahee. Looked like he wasn't blowing smoke with his complaints about Buffalo. His ability to be a threat out of the backfield, plus the fact that he has more in his evasion arsenal than a stiff arm makes him a more dynamic back in this offense.
The special teams looked as crisp as they did at their high point last year. Sams was busting some good returns, and even if he was a fill in, you gotta also credit the return team for picking up coverage on Reed's TD return.
The line rollercoastered a bit, but when they were up, they looked great.
The D looked ridonkulously good against such a high powered offense. If we could have held on to the damn ball a bit better, and they had started drives much deeper in their own territory, I can only imagine what the score could have been.
Ngata's a beast.
Johnson can never replace AD, but he's nothing to sneeze at either.
Rolle is still a step slow, but it seems like they've found ways to compensate better.

Sometimes its in what you see. One, they were pass happy all game, and he had some of his better looks catching out of the backfield, and two, he just looked good one some of his runs. When you're used to Jamal Lewis carving up 30 yards per carry in the same spot in the backfield, a RB that moves, you know, forward, is going to look good.
