For what it is worth.
Steve Young, one of the better QB's of this era said that Boller's last pass had no business being thrown in the first place, and that it was entirely too hard a pass for Heap to catch. Most of the time QB's are conciliatory to other QB's (Theisman would say any interception was the receivers fault), so this holds a little weight in my view.
Future HOFer Emmitt Smith said the play calling on the 3rd and 1 and the end of the game was horrible. While not a coach, his view was the Ravens should have run all 5 times. Can't say that I disagree with him. Did we not get McGahee because he could bounce it outside and get to the corner. That play seemed to work for the Bengals.

I think Billick forgot and thought we still had Jamal on the sidelines.
Very perplexed at his game-calling, besides the plays at the end, the one that really ticked me off was the 3rd and 1 where he had a banged up McNair, who hadn't throw the ball that well the whole night, try to make a throw instead of pounding the damn ball with the guy we signed to a $40 million dollar contract extension.

Bollers pass shouldn't have been thrown. We should have been running the ball on every down.
That said, Heap should have caught the pass. Even if it was thrown hard. This ain't pee-wee football.
Had it been thrown slower it would have been batted down.

Well in all fairness Young doesn't think highly of Boller and Billick. He has made that known many times before. With that said I don't think Young came in hating Boller from the start of his career it's just that he knows a crappy QB when he sees one.

I think that was part of the point Young was trying to make. There was so much traffic around Heap that Boller had to throw it so hard that it was unreasonable to expect even the most sure-handed of receivers to catch it from that short of a distance. It would be like moving the pitcher's mound 15 feet closer to home plate and expecting a guy to hit a 95 mph fastball.

Boller's bullet to Heap never should have been thrown to Heap because he was triple teamed! Boller did not even survey the field, he just threw a rocket at Heap's head! I do not blame Heap for not catching that, it was thrrown so hard Heap probably never even saw the ball! Boller seems to lose his poise in pressure situations, and does not take his time when he has time to make the right throw.
Boller is what he is, I don't blame Boller. I blame Billick for keeping him around and not getting a better back-up i.e. anyone!
