For those who don't know, Galactic is a New Orleans funk band, and they've definitely put on one of the best live shows I've ever seen. Their studio albums are usually somewhat lacking, as reproducing that live energy in the studio can sometimes be hard. They're one of those bands that I would recommend a live album over most of their studio stuff.
On their latest, From the Corner to the Block, they team up with a great selection of hip hop artists, ad the results are great. Featured are Lyrics Born, Gift of Gab, Chali 2na, Mr. Lif, and a few others.
It's really a great mix of funk, rock, and hip hop, and I'd definitely recommend checking it out.
