I bought MLB.tv back in August, and I went for the rest of the season package because it included the playoffs, which I knew I'd be working at my computer through much of, instead of the monthly plan that would have been cheaper overall by the time I bought it.

So yeah...it includes the playoffs...but only if you don't live in the U.S., Canada, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, South Korea, and Japan. WTF I would never have paid for this package if I had known that. Yes, I get the audio instead, but this is maddening, especially since I won't be able to hear the audio from my laptop this weekend when I'm working at volleyball games:mad:

I Hate Having To Read the Tiny Print

At least you have audio, are you listening to the Phili or the Rockies broadcast? Most likely Phillies I imagine because of location but they seem so LAME to me...ready to check out the Rockies in a sec.

His voice is great for football. But for baseball it's a bit much.

I was just not "feeling" it. I feel more comfortable with the Rocks announcer.

Although I do love how Harry Kalas says "J.Roll".

It sounds gangsta.

Yeah...I know I should have noticed the fine print, my fault. It still makes no sense to me why these games (or any of your local games during the regular season) are blacked out. If you have a nice big TV, you'd watch it on a nice big TV. Watching on the computer is out of necessity 999 times out of 1000, I'd think. So why prevent people from watching the team that they presumably care the most about?

(and I know there are legal issues here too with TV contracts, but I just don't see myself ever watching MLB.tv if I had a TV available to me with the game I want to watch on, so I don't know what the TV companies are worried about, I guess)

(and yes, I'm listening to Harry Kalas, which makes up for it a little bit)

Blackouts in general are terribly misguided.

I have a solution!!!!!!!!

MLB.com is doing this thing called hot corner where you can watch the games, live, for free, online!! They split the screen into 4 squares...

top left: the game, live
top right: the count, score, pitch locater thing, etc
bottom left: these two idiots talking about the game. Unfortunately you have to her them talk and can't hear the game. I guess you could listen to the audio of the game while watching it on this mlb.com thing.
bottom right: view of the hitting team's dugout.

This whole thing is pretty cool except for the idiots in the bottom left. I suggest you check it out!

MLB.tv making me upset because
1) They don't air commercials , which they used to do last year. This season they just threw together a picture of products mlb.com sells , and during the last 2 weeks they began to show commercials for movies and AT&T.
2) It lags like crazy even on this broadband.

MLB.tv does have mosaic though. When it feels like cooperating and it's not lagging , it can be a decent product.

I think MLB is trying to sue slingbox because slingbox is better than mlb.tv, so that is makin me mad.
