In Colts record book for TD passes. He will probably do it this week.

We all knew this would eventually happen, as Manning is one of, if not, the best QB in the NFL -- arguably all time.

But I know this will be another hard thing for old Colts fans to swallow, especially after seeing the Colts win the SB last year, beating Baltimore in the process no less.

At any rate, I am kind of glad this is happening. Even though I hate the Colts, it at least further closes the door between the Baltimore and Indianapolis teams and gives the new Colts an identity of their own.

What does everyone else think?

He can throw as many touchdowns as he wants. He's the starting QB on my fantasy team. :D

Mine too...to bad I don't have Brady...

I know some people (Baltimore Fans) that won't even draft him on fantasy teams becase of bitterness. I don't really understand that.

Regardless, in my eyes Unitas is still on the list of BALTIMORE COLTS TD leaders, not Indianapolis Colts.
Theres where my bitterness lies.

It's pretty simple. If any fuss is made about Peyton breaking Johnny U's Colts record, than B-More fans will be angry, and rightly so. In the eyes of most Baltimore football fans, the Indy Colts have nothing to do with the Baltimore Colts. Two entirely different entities and the records have no relation to each other.

I remember hearing about how the HoF was going to separate the Indy Colts history from the Baltimore Colts history now that Indy has won a SB. Does anyone know if this has happened?

It'll be interesting to see how they handle Manning setting the "franchise" record. And I agree. Unitas should be the Baltimore Colts leading QB and Manning should be the Indy Colts leading QB.

I just wonder how this sets up things for other teams that have moved. Take for instance if the Colts moved to LA next year, half of Manning's career would be in Indy and half of it would be in LA. So would Manning's LA era start over from scratch if his Indy records are left there?

Hasn't happened yet, but there is a huge push from fans in Baltimore. Check this out for more info (and sign if you haven't!)

I like him (less now that he's become such a commercial whore), and I like many of the players on the team, and I like Tony Dungy. I just hate the Indianapolis football team and the family that owns it. I have Addai and Wayne on my fantasy team, but every week I'm hoping for the Colts to lose 41-38. Sometime, it will happen.

Consider the example of Tennessee for both scenarios if you want to know how things are likely to be handled. It wasn't that long ago that Eddie George passed Earl Campbell's "franchise" rushing record. Nobody that I'm aware of separates his Houston numbers from his Tennessee numbers. Then there is Warren Moon who stll holds a lot of the Tennessee franchise records despite being long gone before the team moved from Houston.

Let me put your mind at ease about Manning though. You won't have to worry about the Colts moving again. Next year they move into a new stadium that I think many will consider to be the house that Manning built.
