Well, the biggest one yet comes out tomorrow. By the way, how weird is a Sunday release for such a big game???
Anyway... I think I'm going to wait on this one. I really want it on 360, but am leery because of what GHII did to my 360 back in July (I know... probably didn't kill my console, but it's pretty coincidental that it would die when GHII came to the house).
I could also get it for PS2. Apparently, it's the same amount of songs, sans the online play (which isn't a big deal to me).
I'm excited to buy this tomorrow morning. I'm hoping to wake up around 9:30 and just walking into a gamestop with no pre-order and buying it. I doubt it'll be sold out. The song list in this one is pretty impressive.

My fiancee picked it up for me this afternoon. I haven't got a chance to play it yet. But hopefully tonight when the kids got to bed I will get some wii/me time. ;)

I've read reports of problems with the wireless guitars. Something about buttons not being recognized correctly on ALL systems.

Played it last night on my Wii for a bit. I did not experience any problems at all. I have to say, it's the best Guitar Hero game ever. The tracks on this game rock!!!

I agree 100%. Definitely the best track list of any Guitar Hero yet. Its also the hardest one yet. The last tier of songs are ridiculous. I've been playing basically for the last 2 days straight. And I'm finally good enough to play on expert a little bit.
My favorite tracks:
Weezer, "My Name Is Jonas"
Living Colour, "Cult of Personality"
Pearl Jam, "Even Flow"
So many good songs...
Buts its basically just a warm up until Rock Band comes out in 3 weeks.

You bought a $90 game just to "warm up" and get ready for a $170 game?? You, sir, are a hardcore gamer. ;)

My hand hurts just thinking about it! Can the game itself be purchased yet or is it only packaged with the guitar?

You can buy the game solo, for about $50 on PS2. My roomate is picking it up tonight. I usually start by trying to 5-star everything on Hard before moving on to Expert, but I might just jump in and try to beat everything on Expert right from the get go for this one. I'll have a real fun weekend coming up!

The benefits of a new job and cheap rent. :D
But I only bought the game itself, I already had a guitar left over from GH 2.

Dude, you're going to love it. The last 2 rounds of songs are really hard. Its seems like its a little easier and smoother to hit the notes, but the ridiculous of the songs make up for it. I'd start on expert right away...

Wow, this game is certainly much harder than the previous releases.
I haven't even stepped it up to Expert yet, still trying to beat/5-star as many as possible on Hard. Haven't beaten the Slayer song on Hard yet, which is ridiculous. I've gotta beat that and then 5-star about 6 or so more songs.
Cliffs of Dover is, without doubt, the best song in the game.

Yeah "Cliffs" is a great song. Its like the entire song is a guitar solo. And trust me, it gets a lot harder when you step it up to expert. My cousin is pretty damn good at the game and he can't beat any of the last 4 songs on expert, but he can beat them pretty easily on hard.

just beat the Slayer song, which actually wasn't that hard once I figured out how to get past that first "mosh" part.
Now I can't beat the freakin' Devil in the battle. Annoying.
I've got 5-stars on the first 30 songs, and I think 34/39 songs I've got to play so far.
