Adrian Peterson rushed for 296 yards today and the Vikings ran for over 350 yards against the Chargers.

Peterson is a beast.

In that same game, Antonio Cromartie broke the record for longest return on a missed field goal. (109 yards)

I got Peterson for next to nothing at our fantasy football auction draft, and I got Tom Brady at half the cost of Peyton Manning.

Not surprisingly, I'll be 8-1 after this week.

That will always be Jamal's record in my book!

And next year Darren McFadden will break Peterson's record.

Extremely impressive, now if the Vikes can get a passing game, they'll be a very good team.

His speed bursts remind me of some of those old Bo Jackson highlights. Not saying he's as good as Bo, but the way he blows by guys is incredible.

You never know. He just may be as good as Bo.

Obviously time will tell and we don't have much to base it off of, but from the results so far, I would put my money on him being as good.

He has immense skills.

Sorry, that comes out blurry from third place in the standings.

Until he catches a ball while running up the fence, then throws a guy out at home on the fly, I won't be impressed :p

I watched the game at a sports book so there were a lot of things going on so I couldn't really see much of what AP did in that game. But I saw some highlights on the way back home on ESPN and wow. The speed bursts, the cuts, the vision... very rare for a rookie to have all that right out of the gate. At this point I will be surprised if he hits the usual "rookie wall" in 2 weeks. That guy is on fire.

Only difference is until yesterday he hasn't had the usual workload of a feature back. Chester Taylor also had 60 yards on 9 carries. AP may hit the wall a little later than the usual rookie, if at all.

I see a combination of Eric Dickerson, Bo Jackson and Earl Campbell. I am thrilled with Peterson this year. I just don't know why we didn't go after Jeff Garcia, who would have been a perfect fit for this offense. The Vikings would be in the thick of the playoff/divisional race if Garcia was the QB. The Vikings have scored 12 more points than they have given up this year so they are not too bad. Very competitive each game. I'll take whatever record they get as long as they address QB this offseason. A good established veteran and a big time rookie like Brohm or Woodson would be encouraging.

Looking at their respective histories (Peterson and Lewis) it is very similar, especially the injury history. I would think if they keep running Peterson like this they will be very similar 4 productive years out of 7 and then he becomes a goal line mooch.
