I've been looking for a new RPG to spend some of my free time with. I've played Baldur's Gates 1 & 2 and liked very much Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2, so something along those lines. But than again I downloaded the demo of Two Worlds (http://www.2-worlds.com/) and that looks interesting. How about The Witcher (http://www.thewitcher.com/)?

Morrowind or Oblivion, depending on your system.

I haven't played Witcher or Two Worlds, so I can't review either. And while I played the heck out of Daggerfall (bugs and all), I was generally pretty bored by Morrowind and Oblivion.
If you liked NWN2, did you play the expansion and that premium module that's supposed to be coming out soon? (Unfortunately forgot the name).
I've been playing MMORPGs and console games lately, so no great suggestions come to mind. Sorry I can't be more help.

I'd stay away from Two Worlds. I haven't played it, but every review I've read about it has torn it up. Bad framerate, choppy graphics, apparently some clipping issues, bad voice acting, etc.
Most reviews point out that it's just a bad ripoff of Oblivion, so if you're into the open world environment, I'd just stick with Oblivion.
I'm not really into MMORPG's, but if you wanna try one, I've heard Guild Wars is pretty good. Unlike most MMO's, Guild Wars has no monthly charge.

My buddy (who had been really excited for Two Worlds) and I downloaded the 360 demo last Friday, and couldn't get through it. It's really, really sloppy. It's kind of a mix between Oblivion and Diablo, except not really fun.
Oblivion has been eating my face off with its awesomeness the past couple weeks. It is disgusting how much time I have sunk into that game. I agree that there is no reason to pick up Two Worlds if you can pick up Oblivion instead.
I play Guild Wars (not as much recently, but I have played a lot of it in my time) and love it to death. It is even more fun if you have a friend to play with (my brother and I have 3 set times at which we play every week). It doesn't have the depth of World of Warcraft, but there's a lot more strategy involved and it works much better in terms of having a story and, most importantly, not having a monthly fee.

While I have picked up all the Expansion modules for NW1 that were retail, as well as a few others that you got directly from them via the Internet, like Pirates of the Sword Coast and Kingmaker. I have yet to try the Expansion module for NW2 (Mask of the Betrayer). While I liked the game, it just never seemed to keep my attention. The Expansion module has gotten some pretty harsh reviews, which further makes me want to rethink about NW2. Maybe I should give it a shot again.
I really like the group style games versus the single player game. But thought I try one for a change of pace.

I think I'm going to try Oblivion as have been suggested but that I'm also going to delve into The Witcher. My oldest daughter is playing The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, so I'll let her try out Oblivion while I give a go on The Witcher. The Witcher has had some good reviews.

Welcome to a medieval game done right. Well, mostly right. Based on a famous series of novels that I haven't read (not being able to read Russian, Czech, Slovak, German, Lithuanian, French or Spanish), The Witcher drops you into a turbulent medieval world, rife with disease and conflicts between different races. It's a world where things aren't black and white, where Elven freedom fighters use intimidation and violence to combat discrimination against 'nonhumans'.

That the game world is deep and convincingly fleshed-out shouldn't really come as a surprise. Polish developer CD Projekt not only had Andrzej Sapkowski's series of fantasy novels to provide the finer details, but they had experience translating such classic role-players as Baldur's Gate and Planescape: Torment for Eastern Europe. With Bioware's Aurora engine to provide the graphical muscle, the pieces are all in place for an above-average RPG-style experience.
BTW - gogamer.com has the European version at a few dollars more than the US (toned down) version.

The other good thing about Oblivion is that the base game is pretty cheap now, since the Game of the Year edition came out.
How is Morrowind? I remember trying it briefly at a friend's house a couple five or six years ago, but don't even remember if I liked it. If it is anything like Oblivion I am going to have to pick that one up...
