After the McNair disaster, if I were in the Ravens' front office, I'd be hesitant in spend a ton of money on another injury prone quarterback who's on the downside of his career. The rumour is that McNabb will be available in 2008, but I don't think that spending a ton of money to get him would be a good idea.

Depends on what McNabb your getting. If your getting the pre-ACL injury McNabb then I have no problem going out and getting him. If your getting the McNabb with horrible accuracy and limited mobility then its not worth it.

That's like saying, "If we're getting the NFL-MVP Steve McNair, he should play. If we're getting the hit 100-too-many times with no arm strength and the Peyton Manning Face McNair, then he shouldn't play."

McNabb would be stupid.

McNabb is quietly having a good year and isn't 100% yet. McNair was 33 when we picked him up, McNabb would be 31 and even though McNabb had the knee injury last year and the broken foot a few years ago still has much less wear and tear on his body than McNair. Not to mention McNabb still has the arm strenth that McNair has not had in 6-7 years.

Im not saying we should go after him because I think we need to draft a Qb this year and not go the veteran route again.I don't think we have the cap space anyway. However, if he is available he will be the best QB out there and easily the best QB on our current roster. This is not a Culpepper situation. He is proving this year he can still play and probably will only be better next year.

Except my point went completely over your head. McNair is old and obviously washed up at this point. McNabb is younger and still has arm strength and mobility. If he can prove that his mobility is at least 90% of what it was before his ACL injury then it's not a dumb move at all. You still have a team packed with vertrans that are way to hard to cut or trade away because of they're contracts but still have a couple years left in the tank. If they got McNabb then the window for this team gets a little bigger. Then, if they're not high on Troy Smith then you draft another QB, let him sit behind McNabb and Boller for a year or two and your set for your present and your future.

Put me down for at least looking into signing him for a 1 or 2 year deal IF he stays healthy the rest of the year.

Everyone wants a yountg QB....well he is going to have sit a year or two to learn. Why not have a better QB than Boller and McNair starting for us !!!

He has a MUCH stronger arm that Steve and has more QB savy than Boller.

Who is the better QB for next year? McNabb/Boller/McNair. I think that is an easy choice !

He may be better than Boller or McNair but that doesn't mean he'd be the right fit for the Ravens at the price he would come by.

It also depends on who is the Head Coach and who is in charge of calling the plays on offense.

Who else might be available that is better than Boller ?

Matt Ryan, Brian Brohm, Andre Woodson?

You can't go get McNabb although it wouldn't surprise me if they did.

Besides, I am thinking his hometown Bears or Minnesota(back with Childress) is more likely anyway.

There aren't any good FA QB's available this year.

So, it is either trade or the draft.

Probably not that many for a decent price. That said, getting McNabb wouldn't be the end of the world and would probably get us back to the playoff caliber team that we should be. But it all depends on Billick. I think he could possibly render McNabb useless like he has done with every other QB he's ever had.

So, fire Billick, get McNabb if you can and draft a QB. Either way, drafting a QB who can step in down the line should be a big priority this next draft. We shouldn't be holding our breath with Troy Smith.
