... because there's no Wii?

So, they've finally "turned a corner". And all it took was upgrading the HDD, packaging a free game, a $100 price cut and the complete unavailability of the Wii. Maybe Sony should concentrate a little harder on making some 1st party titles that are actually ... ummm .... good.

Why all the bashing and hating on the ps3?

All opinions about the hardware aside, this is all I'm looking for - first party or third. Give me some games that make me want to buy the machine. (Blu-ray ain't gonna do it for me). Most of the action games all seem the same to me, but then, I'm no longer a trigger-happy teenager anymore.
For me, this is mostly true for the 360 too. However, since I enjoy PC gaming a lot, some of the more interesting 360 choices end up as options for my computer. Therefore, less chance of me buying the console. That's probably the reason I never picked up an Xbox either.

I agree, I don't have any of the next gen consoles. I miss the sports games, but that's about it.

Why all the bashing and hating on the ps3?
I'm not really bashing on Sony. I just find it amusing that they would openly say, "Whew ... good thing there are no Wii's this Christmas." Basically admitting that it takes one of the 3 big systems to completely disappear for them to actually sell systems.
I just really don't understand Sony's strategy this generation. They've completely gone away form what made them a great gaming company. MS is basically doing to them now what the original Playstation did to the N64 and Sega Saturn/Dreamcast. They put out a huge selection of great game exclusives and let the system sell itself. Like Baroquen said, give me a reason to want to buy this system. I still really want to buy a PS3, but over a year after it's release, there's still nothing out there that's a must have title. Heavenly Sword, Ratchet and Clank and Resistance ... that's it. I'm not dropping 5 bill to only play three games. Anything else on the system even remotely worth playing is also available on the 360. Why would I play the PS3 version when the 360 version (consistently) has better multiplayer? My friend bought the PS3 version of Call of Duty 4 and we tried playing online Wed. night ... it took almost 5 minutes to find a game. On 360, after 5 min., the players are matched up, the map has been voted on and you've already been playing for 2 - 3 mins.
Instead, they're concentrating on "new and creative" ways to compete with the 360 like Home or (I just read about) Anti-Virus software. I'm pretty sure it's a 3rd party company that designed it, but why in the world would I need Anti-Virus software for my PS3? You're basically telling me that I spent $500 on an unsafe/unstable console. Home has been pushed back until next year, but it was supposed to be a huge Holiday release. It probably took up at least half of Sony's E3 presentation. I still have yet to see anyone from Sony explain how, if I actually wanted to play/use something like this, why wouldn't I just play Second Life for free on my PC?
Stop all of this stupid stuff and just go back to making great games. People keep shouting this from the rooftops, but Sony still doesn't seem to be listening. It simply amazes me how much ground MS has made up in only 2 years.

I personally will always hate Sony's consoles because they helped drive Sega out of the console business. I would love it MS would do the same to Sony, but Sony is much smarter than Sega was at the time.
I should probably let bygones be bygones anyway, since today's consoles are waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy too rich for my blood.
