Say what you will, but this might be the best team in the history of the league. I've never seen anything like them. They can do whatever they want offensively. It's amazing.
Embrace it folks, we may never see another team this good again.

I'm loving it. I hope they go undefeated in the regular season and Tom Brady smashes the TD record. Mostly because I have Tom Brady on my fantasy football team, but it would also be something to see.

Great minds think a like Beaner...I was just about the same thing.
They may not go undefeated but this team is unreal.
I would love to see this team go against those real good 49ers teams, or the 85 Bears defense, the Ravens SB defense or the 90's Cowboys teams.
The scary part about the Pats? They have what looks to be a top 5 pick in the upcoming draft and they aren't a very old team either.
This is a great team....The word great is thrown around a lot in sports but rarely does it actually have true meaning...Make no mistake about it, this is a GREAT team and perhaps, it is the greatest single season team ever....They need to win a SB first to have that distinction but with the Colts injury issues, the Pats are one level and everyone else is at least 2 levels below them right now.

Brady is a better fantasy player this year than LT was last year....Scary.

They are amazing to watch and it's hard to think of any other teams who have played at this level but what I'd like to embrace is someone knocking them out in the playoffs and having go down as one of the NFL's greatest disappointments rather than the NFL's greatest team.

If I could only convince you to root for a different shade of Blue during College Hoops season.
For the record, I think this Pats team could beat any of the ones you mentioned above. No disrespect to any of those teams or their accomplishments, but what New England is doing week in and week out is really, in a word, amazing.
I see no reason that, if they stay injury free, they won't go undefeated.

They aren't all that young on defense but they should be good for a while. I don't know what their overall salary cap situation is, but they could end up looking quite a bit different next season w/the way their salaries are structured. Moss and Samuel will be looking for big money and guys like Stallworth were signed to low cost deals for 2007 that explode in 2008.

So ?
They can just let Moss, Stallworth, and Samuel go and plug others in their place...... all they did was win 3 SB's without them. ;)

BTW, we can thank the Packers for this...Had they been willing to trade a 4th rounder for Moss, the Patroits don't get him and they look a lot different.

They wouldn't be where they are today w/o Moss. Brady is going to be the MVP but it's Randy Moss that is the key to that offense. He'll definately be back IMO, but it might be at the expense of some of the very good role players they have.

Then we might be talking about how amazing GB is... If the 9-1 Packers had Moss this season they might be the team everyone thinks is going to win the SB.

Without question the greatest team I've ever seen. At least to this point in a season. I remember the 92-93 Cowboys, 94 Niners and the 98 Broncos and none of those teams were even close to dominating a regular season like these guys are doing.

I'm going to laugh my ass off if the Patriots lose in the divisional round of the playoffs.

I hear this talk a lot. And, I don't want to embrace them. I hate them. I hate their fans, their arrogant coach, their smug QB, and I did I mention their fans?:p
I don't come across as bitter, do I?

Do I even want to go to the Monday Night game against the Patriots? Man that is going to be one bitter pill to swallow. But I guess I'll at least be able to tell my grandchildren (if I have any) that I saw the greatest team ever to play the game in person. At least for the first half. :D

That would be a hell of a game. Could the 85 Bears keep them under 20?
The Patriots look like they can do anything they want at anytime on offense, and their defense is great too. I know they didn't, but it seemed like they caught the highlights of the TO's day, and thought "we'll get Moss 4 TDs in the first half."

I mentioned it before, but what they do offensively seriously reminds me of Tecmo Bowl. Brady drops back, no one comes close to him, and he throws a perfect strike to wide open receiver. It's not supposed to be that easy.

No, but the 2000 Ravens could.

Sure, a great defense can slow this Patriots offense down if they have great speed and tackle well. The Colts are far from being a great defense especially w/all the guys out against NE but held them in check. I can't imagine why a better defense couldn't do better against 'em and hold 'em under 20.

No, but the 2000 Ravens could.
I'll argue against that. The thing about NE is they have yet to even be tested. Even if a D successful shuts down Stallworth, Moss, and Welker, then there is still a plethora of very good TEs (Watson and Brady) and it seems as if their entire RB/FB squad can do no wrong. Not to mention their special teams weapons.
This offense could still put up 21 points against even the best Defense, especially if its just one game. If the Pats had to play 16 games against great defense then we might have something.
And lets not even talk about what NE's defense would do to the 2000 Raven's offense.
I will never say a bad thing about our defense that Super Bowl year, or even about the team. That defense is at least top 3 all time, but this offense is something special.
With that said, I can't wait to see Kyle Boller tear them apart in two weeks :D

I've said it before, but I think the present Patriots would beat the 2000 Ravens, but it would be close.
The Patriots would have zero ability to run the ball on that line and linebackers, which would allow the Ravens to both drop extra backer(s) into coverage and blitz extra backers constantly.
The Ravens offense would be stymied by the Patriots defense, but each side would be getting great field position, so there would be a lot of field goals.
I forget what I originally called for a final score, but it would be something like 16-12, with the only touchdown coming on a slant from Welker where he beats Ray in coverage.
It would be a hell of a game to watch.
