I don't know how many wrestling fans are on the OH, but tonight marks the return of Chris Jericho to Monday Night Raw! Monday Night Football is a lousy game tonight, so his return should be great!

Can't wait. I don't follow wrestling as much as I used to but Jericho's always been one of my favorites. It'll be interesting to see who his first fued will be with. There aren't any heels on the Raw roster that can even approach his mic skills IMO, and I can't imagine they'd bring him in as anything but a face.
I wonder if he'll still use the "Raw is Jericho" line since it doesn't apply anymore as Raw hasn't been "Raw is War" for several years now.

Apparently Orton is supposed to be his first fued.

Really, where have you read that? I'm kind've surprised that they would throw him right into the World title picture.

Not me. I bet he's got all kind of "creative control" this time around, as the WWE needs him a whole lot more than he needs them. It wouldn't surprise me to see Jericho holding gold sooner than Wrestlemania!

I'd be fine with that since I've never been impressed with Orton. It would also be nice to see Jericho actually have a real world championship title run. I couldn't stand the way they used him when he was the first unified champion.

It really wasn't Raw is War when Jericho first appeared in the then WWF.

Actually it was. Jericho's WWE debut was in August 1999. Monday Night Raw became "Raw is War" in March 1997 and continued to use the name until September 2001 when they "retired" the name out of respect.

Well, I don't remember them ever making an issue out of the name from the middle of 99 on. It was just Raw, usually.

I take it back, just watched old footage of Jericho's initial debut with the Rock, and the banner on either side of the TitanTron says Raw is War. My bad. :)

So, what did you all think of his return last night? I thought his entrance was awesome! His promo was of course awesome! I was highly impressed that Vinnie Mac gave him that type of platform, huge fireworks display, etc. This was the first truly electric moment on RAW in quite some time. That said, I would have rather NOT known he was coming back. That would have truly made for an unforgettable moment.
So, now they've got Jericho back on Raw, Edge back on Smackdown, and the Nature Boy returning next week on Raw for what should be his swan song run to Wrestlemania. Business is about to pick up! With the Ravens out of it, the road to WrestleMania will take us right up until Opening Day! Welcome back Y2J...the Hangout will never, never, never, NEVER, ever, EVEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRR, be the same.......AGANE! (break the walls down!)

Yeah, so I knew it was coming and missed it. (Was too busy watching Heroes). Did some flipping back and forth around 9:45 when he rumored to be on, and nothing. Anybody have a link for video of the spot? I'm at work, so haven't checked the WWE site or anything else.

I agree with just about everything you said. I was surprised at the level of his entrance also. It definitely seems like they're going to finally give him the megapush he deserves. I'm actually glad that I did know that he was coming though because otherwise I most likely would've missed it. What I liked best about his promo was the way he called out all of Randy Orton's faults and basically addressed every reason why I've never been an Orton fan.
On a side note, I wonder if any of the other guys are thinking that they could take a few years off and come back with a huge push.

HBK already did that in the early 2000's. HHH has done it twice with hammy injuries. Cena is doing it now with his injury. Taker does it about once a year. Other than Rock, Austin, and to a lesser extent Foley, Jericho is about the biggest "name" guy left! Who else could possibly return (and be an active wrestler) that would be able to electrify the crowd like Jericho did last night?

Santino Marella!!! Just kidding, what's up with him losing twice to Lawler???
As far as the guys you mentioned, they were all already in the upper echelon. I don't think Jericho ever reached that level, even when he was unified champ.

You are correct, but he SHOULD have been, and Vince knows it! There is nobody else right now that should be main eventing that isn't. Maybe Matt Hardy, but he is getting close.

Yep. I saw that it was there last night. Actually saw a larger (and slightly longer) clip of the spot on YouTube, though the quality wasn't great. I like Jericho but wasn't that impressed.
I then watched Jericho's original debut on RAW (when he interrupted the Rock). Much more entertaining than the spot from Monday. The lack of charismatic personalities is really hurting the WWE these days. Just my opinion though.

Had the place to myself last night, so I checked out Smackdown and was thrilled to see that Fit Finley was back! He was one of my favorites back in WCW so it was cool to see him again. How long has he been in WWE?
And I see tonight that TNA is still going strong. Pretty surprising -- wasn't that league supposed to be on borrowed time before it ever started?
