I know there are some serious movie buffs on this board, who should have me stumped in no time! This thread will be very similar to the movie quotes. Provide the actor / actress, and the film, then give another character to keep it going.

I'll start things off with a softball.

Verbal Kint

I guess it may have been a bit too generic of a name...

Wasn't Eric Gordon Bradley Whitfords d-bag character from Billy Madison?

And Pike Bishop was William Holden in The Wild Bunch.

Stiller! From the Zero Effect, that movie is quietly excellent.

Critical Bill

It's one of those little known underrated gems that needs to stay that way. As I heard someone say once "it's one of those movies that you'd hate if it became well known."

Critical Bill was Treat Williams in Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead, I do believe.

Max Dubois.

I feel dirty because I had to look it up, but now I feel extra dirty for what I found. I won't say though since I cheated.

Martini was Danny DeVito in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

Doug Dorsey was DB Sweeney's character in Cutting Edge. I'm forced to admit that I got help on this one from my wife, who as it happens really loves that movie (I think it's pretty bad myself). She's quite the movie buff, film major in college and all that, so if that is considered cheating I withdraw my answer and next character...

Roger Thornhill.

That was the guy in "Christine", right? Who buys the car...but I forget the actor's name...

EDIT: never mind, I just checked and it was Arnie Cunningham, not Jim. I don't know who the hell Jim Cunningham is.

I totally forgot Patrick Swayze was even in that movie -- I think Donnie Darko is terrific, not all time great, but certainly very creative and well done.

They're just naming obscure characters from movies. You name the movie and the actor, then another obscure character name.

The Wedge
12-02-2007, 11:24 PM
Not necessarily obscure. Though the last one kinda was. The only reason why I know it's Sydney Poiter in Grindhouse/Death Proof is because it's Sidney Poiter's daughter and I thought it was kinda funny he named his daughter the feminized version of his name. Shadow much?

This one will either be really easy, or insanely hard. Weird, I know.

Lance Hunt.
