Any other boxing fans on here? I saw the fight tonight. Mayweather is clearly the best current pound-for-pound fighter in the world and maybe the best of this generation.

Not usually but I watched this fight.

Awesome wasn't it? Hatton fought hard but he was just beaten. I think its great when two fighters just go for it. Hatton is a darn good fighter so this was no small victory for Mayweather

Great fight. Loved how Hatton was the agressor. Mayweather has never faced a fighter like that. Until the knock-out I thought it was a close fight. I was surprised to see that the judges had Mayweather winning pretty convincingly. Anyway, I was rooting for Hatton to win, and Hatton caught Mayweather with a good shot that stymied him a bit in the 8th or 9th round (can't remember), but Mayweather was saved by the bell.

All in all, Mayweather is a great fighter and I wouldn't be surprised to see him retire. He has beaten everyone. Unless there is a guy who comes up who can't be denied, Mayweather is finished.

I love boxing. I had Mayweather winning the scorecard the whole fight. Hatton wasn't landing any of his punches, when Mayweather got his jab in and his left hook. Hatton was overrated going into the fight. To bad there isn't any fighters out there that can get up in the ring with Mayweather.

Taylor v Pavlik 2 is the next great fight. And if you like the heavy weights they are are two belts on the line in Feb.

I love boxing too. I've slacked off a bit lately since there really haven't been many great fights. I did watch The Contender and that final fight was one of the best I've ever seen.

I'll have to check out the Taylor/Pavlik fight.

I also enjoyed watching some of the 24x7 show on HBO. It gave me some insight to the fighters and allowed me to get a feel for Hatton. I think that is why I enjoy The Contender so much. I like getting to know the fighters outside of the ring.

I give him credit for trying to take the fight to Merriweather, but it was painfully obvious that he couldn't break Floyd's defense nor could he avoid Merriweather's insanely accurate blows.

After the first few rounds, you could tell Floyd got Hatton measured up and just started going to work.

If there is any question as to Floyd's legacy he squashed it on Saturday.

And the KO punch was one of the best punches I have seen. He literally switched position with Hatton and crushed his face into the ring post in one controlled, vicious motion. I mean just think about that...

Well Hatton is a fighter and Merriweather is a boxer. That pretty much sums up wh he won. Mind you, without rules and boxing eticate, I think Hatton would do much better
