If I had to name one guy that seems to bridge all tastes in music, it's Tom Petty. I'm not sure I have ever heard someone say that they really can't stand Tom Petty. From punks to deadheads to hipsters to middle aged dads, most people can agree on him. Although by saying that, I'm sure someone that does hate him will find their way onto this thread.

I really admire the guy. His music with the Heartbreakers has aged very well and his collaborations with Jeff Lynne and the rest of the Wilburies was excellent. Just great American rock music.

I'm not a member of that site, but I'll check it out.

Definitely worth signing up - it's free and pretty awesome if your into live music, well worth the time!
They have a few Tom Petty concerts that just ROCK!

I read recently that he just recorded a new album with his old band Mudcrutch. Not sure when it's supposed to come out, but the article also said that they recoded it in two weeks.
