Since that might be the only thing that can brighten things up around here.
If the season ended today, the Ravens would be picking #8. The only mock draft I've seen so far is the one from Scout's Inc. posted on ESPN.com (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft08/index). They have Brian Brohm listed as their #8. I'd kind of like to be able to get Jake Long, since he could have an immediate impact in 2008....J.O. is questionable at best to return next year, Adam Terry hasn't impressed me, and Jared Gaither is still too raw to see how he might turn out. Unfortunately he'll be gone at #8. I'd really love to get a franchise CB too, but it doesn't seem there are any worth taking at that spot. Of course, the Ravens always seem to be in need of a franchise QB, but that probably wouldn't have much impact in 2008.....and I still think there is enough talent on this team to make a playoff run next year, so I'm not exactly enamored with the idea of Brohm. Not to mention we don't exactly have a great reputation for bringing out the most in QBs.
And finally, a bit off topic but I have to take this opportunity to flip the Baltimore bird to the San Francisco 49ers. Not only did they trade up to steal our potential future cornerstone LT (Joe Staley) in this year's draft, but in doing so handed the possible #5 overall pick to New England. Way to go, guys.

I know it doesn't fill any of our holes, but if we could find a way to get Chris Long, I would freak.
Defense all begins with the front four and if we can replace Pryce with Long our front four would be unstoppable.
That being said, I am sure we will pick Brohm as qb unless Troy Smith impresses in the last two weeks.
Its funny bc most fans freak when their team picks a qb in the first round. It is always so exciting. Unfortunately, in Baltimore......not so exciting. I see it as a bright future slowly fading into oblivion.

QB, Dline, or CB...there is no reason a 1st pick has to be anything put those three positions. Some might say LB but the Ravens have been extremely successful at find late round/ undrafted LB's who are very solid. Barnes looks like the real deal, and Scott should be around for awhile.
I would love to see Ngata and Long on the line for the next few years.
Anyone know Kipers big board? I know it will change 1000 times before the draft, but it can give you a good idea of the first round talent

Here it is (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/melkiper/index), but it doesn't include underclassmen yet.

How many draft picks did we lose this year? I know we owe the Bills a couple still for McGahee.

Yes.....I would bet a lot of money on the 1st pick being QB, DL,CB. If we can get a Flacco or Ainge in the 2nd, which I think is likely, and Ryan is gone I would be for picking up the best CB in the draft or DE if Long or Callis is there. Maybe look to trade down to and pick up an addiional 2nd if at all possible.

Long fills a huge hole...We need more pass rush.
He is definitely one of my top targets as of right now.

I really wish we could see what Troy has. I'm not sold on any of the 1st round QB's this year. Woodson is my favorite but he needs a good amount of work.

I say we trade down and draft Colt Brennan. He has a great arm, and is not just a system QB down there. He impresses me more than Brohm and Woodson. Plus if we trade down it's always good to get extra picks with Ozzie at the helm.

My dream situation is that we'd trade down and draft a corner later in the 1st. Cason,Malcolm Jenkins, Mike Jenkins, Aqib Talib and some others all have 1st round potential but I dont see more than 2 of them going in the top 10. We could easily pick up one of these guys in the 15-25 range

We should take Brennan just so that we can print T-Shirts calling him:
"Baltimore Colt" :D

Dorsey and Ngata...in two years we would have the best DT combo in the league

Dorsey won't be there for us. He will be gone top 3.
