Completely irrelevant, considering that some of those guys started on opening day, and Smith has had almost a full season to wait.

I'm just putting it out there. Did I make any claim to anything here?

Not many QB's in the league would have put up better numbers for the Ravens yesterday. Troy looked poised and confident in his ability. Let him start next week and then see how he figurs into the QB job next season.

He played decent....His WR didn't help him out much but he also got lucky on 2 balls that should have been picked.

There were also a few times he should have ran but threw it instead.

Not having McGahee obviously hurts as well.

Atleast that shows that running is not his first option.

He has already shown me that he has one of the main ingredients Boller totally lacks and that is poise, which is essential to play NFL QB and suceed. However, the question remains can he pick up the cerebral part of the game and read a defense and make the correct decisions, again problems that Boller has never overcame on a consistent basis. I still think they need to get Matt Ryan in the draft at all costs and keep Troy around as their future backup.

Matt Ryan is a reach from where we are drafting.

I agree. Troy seemed to have a much better feel for the pocket than Kyle has. I'm not jumping on the Matt Ryan thing yet, we need to shure up this offensive line before we do anything.

I don't know how we can develop a quarterback when he gets put into positions that Troy was yesterday.

Yes, yesterday was yet another example of our offensive line's ineptitude. It's been that way all season, folks... I don't care who your quarterback is, he won't last long taking a beating.

2 rookies + 2 aging vets + 1 second year guy = a whoopin'.

Yep.

Hank I heard today that McGahee is already being ruled out and Boller will follow. Troy Smith will make his second start.

Mike Anderson will be questionable.

Did you hear anything like this??

Nope, haven't heard anything but I would imagine that Troy will start. No clue who the backup RB will be (Cory Ross??????)

I'm not working on Sunday (thank the lord), so unless I decide to go over the facility for lunch or something, I'll probably be out of the loop until the first passing camp comes around.

Corrected that Manning line. His first game was against Miami in '98.

I really liked what I saw from Smith yesterday but I agree with most people - until there are fundamental changes in the system/protection/surrounding talent on the offensive side, he won't have much of a chance to really succeed.
