So, how did everyone do in their Fantasy Football leagues? I was in three different leagues, and finished in first, second, and third, respectively. Not too shabby for a beginner, eh?
Naturally, I finished third in the only league where there was money at stake. Isn't that always the way? Haha.

By the way, picking up Adrian Peterson in the 5th or 6th round was the smartest/luckiest move I made this year. He's the reason why I finished as well as I did in two of my leagues.

Third place, I was the second seed, but Tony Romo and T.O. combined for -1 point in the first round of the playoffs, and Larry Johnson was the worst first round pick ever.

Was in three leagues -- finished 2nd in two of them and didn't make the playoffs in the other (it was a keeper leauge, my keepers sucked and my top two WR were hurt most of the year).

I finished second as the #4 seed in my eight team league. My opponent only put up 69 points, but Willie Parker broke his leg and Favre was awful, leaving me with just 50.
I played in 3 leagues. In my keeper league for no money I finished 2nd. In my league with a $25 entry fee I finished 6th (I was the 3 seed), and in my league with a $150 entry fee I finished 1st. The gave me a cool $900. I thought I was going down, but he only put up 65 points.

Finished 4th in my Yahoo league, though I should've made it to the championship. I just played the wrong guys the week before.
I'm leading my guy in my ESPN league by 10 points going into the final week of a 2 week championship.
Brady and LT pretty much carried my team all year. I had the #1 overall pick and took LT, then Brady with the 20th pick.

I was in three leagues and came in first in two of them
Of course, the one that actually mattered I came in 6th
I drafted Adrian Peterson in the 8th round but traded him for Cedric Benson:eek:

6-7, missed the playoffs by a game after making the playoffs for 3 straight years.
Spent big bucks on Carson Palmer but he was slightly above average. Had Favre on the bench for cheap, but he disappeared when I needed him most.
Going into next year with LenDale White, Kevin Jones and Braylon Edwards as my keepers all $10 or under in a league with a $180 cap at the draft.

Playing against the #1 seed for 3rd place this week. Went into the playoffs at the #3 seed, and made all the wrong choices last week. I could have easily won last week if I didn't overthink and mess with my team. Oh well.

Had three leagues:
Yahoo! Keeper League 1 - Finished dead last. I drafted what I thought was a good team, but somehow started out 0-5 so I traded away all my good players for picks and keepers. Now I get LT next year and am pretty loaded. I figure it's playoffs or dead last... no middle ground. Lost the $25 buy in.
Yahoo! Keeper League 2 - Finished 3rd to last. See above, but couldn't make enough trades. Lost the $25 buy in.
ESPN League - Won the championship. Dominated all all year and ended w/ only one loss. Outscored the rest of the teams by over 200 points and handily won the championship game. Bought in for $25 and won $200.
All in all I made $125. Not too shabby. This is after the $175 I made during baseball season.

My one and only team had an amazing regular season, but choked in the postseason. Finished as the #1 seed in my league with only one loss, but bowed out pathetically in the first round to the #4 seed. I did win the 3rd place game though, so at least not all was lost. Still kind of disappointed though...

I went 5-9 in the regular season with my absolutely awful auto-drafted team. Good enough for the 8th playoff spot in a 10 team field. I proceeded to beat the 1st seed (who relied completely on Tom Brady, who laid an egg against the Jets that week), then the 5th seed (by .7 points, no less), than the 7th seed in the championship (by a 2 point margin). Possibly the worst fantasy football team to ever win a championship. 90 bucks my way!

I was 11-2 in the regular season with Brady/Westbrook/Edwards/T.O. leading my team in a 12-team field. I started 0-2.
I lost in the first round of the playoffs. And ended up getting 7th out of 12.

Perhaps the people you beat will take from their defeat the lesson that having an 8-team playoff in a 10-team league is ridiculous.

I agree that it's utterly ridiculous, but I will say that the 80 bucks in my pocket help to smooth over the outrage I feel.

It seems that #1 and #2 seeds are upset in the playoffs frequently. It happened to me last year, and this year I upset the #1 seed in the first round. I read a column arguing that the fact that the best regular season team can lose in the playoffs and get nothing is silly, and that fantasy leagues should ditch head-to-head for pure points standings. Of course, you can say the same thing about real life football, and baseball, basketball, hockey and most sports. So I don't buy it.

I played 10 leagues this year (all free) mostly because I like to draft. The rest of the year is kinda like work. Relying mostly on late round drafts of Randy Moss, TO, Roethlisburger, and Romo I won 4 out of 10. One thing I wish I would have done was picked up Adrian Peterson. I shied away from him in every one of my drafts. Another thing that helped was staying away from RB's that have been overworked the year before. No Shaun Alexander or Larry Johnson.
